Hi everyone, I sent a letter off to lloyds on 26th august regarding mis sold loan ppi, I know they had been given the extension of 16 weeks to deal with complaints, is this still the case? I know they received it cause I checked my recorded delivery receipt, but they haven't even acknowledged the letter. Is this common?

Sent a ppi claim questionnaire to Clydesdale Bank at the beginning of August, complaint was upheld and today i was £10,000 better off when I checked my bank balance.:j Thanks to this site the whole process was made simple even for me, and it only costed 46p. Was wondering though, I have received this from the Clydesdale but in the meantime I have found details of another loan with them from 2000, showing ppi once again..Can I make another claim now that I have accepted and received redress for my original claim? Or is it me being greedy???;)

Thanks MSE site and hope anyone thinking of claiming gets it done because it really is very easy to do,

    Cheers JohnC64

As Dilus says yes you can go back to them, especially if you have paperwork and reasons for mis-sell.

By the way don't forget to tell the tax man(HMRC) in regards to your 8% interest, Clydesdale dont pay the tax man and should've advised you they were paying you gross of tax.
If you pay through wages they will adjust your tax code, they pay even take it as a one off payment over the phone, with our claim we were happy for the tax code to change and keep the few hundred quid extra, cleared a credit card debt. If you're self employed you need to add it to your self assessment form.
Don't ignore it though, I believe HMRC are already in talks with the banks for them to supply details if they pay out gross, therefore HMRC can go after those that don't pay up. BE WARNED:cool:

Does anyone here know why we cannot add an email link to our posts any longer
  • Congratulations Smitchy73. Im a newbie here. I wonder if some of you old seasoned professionals can help me. Im waiting for paperwork to come through from the FSCS as Picture no longer exsist as I was mis-sold the PPI (various reasons - the same as everyone else I suppose). This is going to sound horrendous but at the time consolidating debts etc was the best thing to do. I took a loan out in June 2006 for £43,000 with the PPI totally approx @ £10,900. The monthly repayments including PPI to date is £434 per month, I am 5 years 4 months through the 25 year loan period and have received rebates totalling approx £5000 during this time. The PPI runs out on the 5th year. Can someone please help me to estimate what the likelhood of getting a refund back or compensation regarding this. Help appreciated! Thanks.

Hi littleitaly, although I don't have any experience of this myself there are a couple of people who have had similar styles of loans. They may not be about till this evening so keep an eye out for the likes of cappo, amersall, and dizzydi and niggly.
As long as you have a reason for your complaint of mis-sell you should be okay, I know there have been other payouts from the FSCS on behalf of Picture and various others who have gone out of business, although I think they can only pay out up to 90% of what you're due.

Although you've had some rebate back it's not what you were charged originally and the interest will be charged for the duration of the loan, so you should get back a fair chunk. Not sure how it goes with a recalculation of the loan as I don't know if this can be done but again hopefully if someone with a personal knowledge of this comes along they'll be able to answer this for you.

Good luck and hope you get somewhere on this soon.:D

  • Thanks Smitchy73, much appreciated. I'll keep an eye out for cappo, amersall, and dizzydi and niggly later this evening. Fingers Crossed!

Yes. Just send a copy of the discharge you have no insolvency practioneer looking after your case because you are discharged. Its a no brainer. The record however will stay on credit report 6 years then removed. They will have to pay you just call the number, scan, email, fax the discharge cert and the money comes to you.

Bankruptcy orders. These are deleted 6 years from the date of the bankruptcy order. Your credit file details can be changed to show the date your bankruptcy order ended. You can send a "Certificate of Discharge" from bankruptcy to the credit reference agencies, but there is a fee payable to the court for the certificate.

    Hi Niggly,
I did email the CEO of Halifax Mr. Antonio Osorio who obviously forwarded my email and its attachment to one of his officers. All they did was to write me a letter explaining to me that they will re-calculate the second loan but no mention of discharge issue. So I emailed him again and said that I needed some answers, again forwarded my email to another one of his officers who wrote to me saying that they have re-calculated it and that they are confident they are right and that if I am not happy I should go to FOS. The letter also said that if I do not agree with the issue of Official Receiver, that I should contact Official Receiver myself. I emailed back saying that in the first place, I ceased dealings with Official Receiver when I was discharge and the fact that they are the ones who contacted the Official Receiver, its their responsibility to finish what they started. This is an ever ending battle with Halifax and I am really feed up with them. Any ideas on how to end this.

    Hiya

    Hope your well.

Hopefully Niggly will be here at some point with some help/advice on where to take this on the calculations.
Hope this matter is resolved soon, fingers crossed.;)

    Hi Di3004,

You are always very kind. I am so disappointed with Halifax, I am like banging my head on the wall.
