    Hi Guys,

Bit of advice please have recently had a claim through egg settled for ppi on a loan for £2,600 however £1,000 of it is being sent to Moorgate who now on the loan, Egg stated the reason as "Your loan has in accordance with fsi guidelines been credited with £1,000 TO PUT YOUR LoaN IN THE POSITION IT WOULD HAVE BEEN HAD YOU NOT TAKEN ppi.
Can anyone advise if i can claim this money?

    Hi there

    Well done on your success!

Did they confirm this before they refunded this onto the account?

I understand some do this and others do not, if there is still a loan that's ongoing anything remaining plus interest should be awarded directly to you.;)
There is no harm in asking them, if there were no arrears/missed payments and you have kept up to date, you can write and tell them that, and tell them you would have preferred to have received your refund paid directly to you, as you've already been deprived of your money in the first place.

Give it a go if you want to good luck.:)

I have just discovered my Barclaycard VISA has PPI on it. This account was opened up between 15 and 20 years ago, so I can't remember if I applied by post, or in person somewhere.

Will Barclaycard tell me how long I have had the card, and how it was opened, or would asking them this make my case weaker?

    Thanks.

*eta* This is still an active card that I use, and the PPI is still on the card now.

    Hi there

If the card is still active, I would think they still hold the details on this, you can either write to them and ask them to send you a copy of the agreement (enclose your card number), and enclose £1 cheque or postal order, and ask them to provide this to you by 12 days.

    Or

Call into a local branch who maybe able to confirm.

You can still make a reclaim without the need of any paperwork, although it maybe useful to make sure they go back all the way on the PPI. (As its a long time ago, and there would be some money to come back to you, especially interest).

To make a reclaim you just complete the reclaim questionnaire below, send to the head office or complaints dept, remember to keep a copy for yourself as well, good luck.;)

  • can anyone who has emailed Lloyds CEO tell me how long it usually takes for a response? I emailed him on 5 October (used the email address posted on here - guy with an exotic name) but no joy yet.
Any info on estimated response time would be appreciated.

I would go to FOS if I were you. Provide a copy of the response from Barclays as well as your original letter of complaint and the policy document.

Make four separate complaints (I know it is a pain but that way you can keep track of which is which).

Presumably you intend to accept the other 12.
No decision on the other 12 claims that they sent me paperwork for. I did ring on friday afternoon as I was off work, and I was told that "all claims were active", which sort of contradicts the 4 letters received on Saturday!!! I somehow thing that Barclays are not keeping track of things themselves, and are now trying some stalling tactics. I am presuming that by re-opening the case where I had already sent them the policy with the paperwork, it will give them ANOTHER 16 weeks?
read this forum every single day and realize we are all waiting for our ppi to be refunded which can be so depressing when the postman goes by and leaves nothing but this morning when I read the forum and read your contribution, although its not right that you are getting the runaround the way you worded your quote made me laugh out loud , I read it out to the hubby and he laughed - thats the spirit we need to keep a sense of humour not easy but it so helps. I am tired of saying to my hubby when my ppi arrives we shall go out for the most fantastic meal but as Cappo always says we need patience and I think a sense of humour so thanks for brightening my morning.:j
[Takes a bow!] I was just so bowled over by the ridiculous letter saying they needed more information about the policy...when they actually had the bloody policy appended to the claim!!! If only you could have heard me effing and jeffing around the kitchen when I opened the letter - I was actually jumping and hopping. My daughter asked if that's what the phrse "hopping mad" meant!

Happytalk, you're comments are soooo right, most of us 'regulars' do tend to have a sense of humour, although some of us only laugh to ourselves:D
I just got my success through yesterday from RBS for 5 loans, but have to wait for my money coming through, over £10k and it's been spent already to pay off other debts, which on it's own is a great feeling, but all that money and i wont even be able to get myself a new watch:D.....yet:D
You have a good one, the wait will be worth it.
Thanks to all the competition posters.
