PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Matty, I received a letter yesterday from Head of Customer Relations concerning my complaint that I'd emailed to the CEO and funnily enough the letter was written the same day as the money was paid into my account (coincidence?). Maybe it's time for you to email the CEO with your complaint, you do seem to have been waiting a long time for your payment.
Cheers johunter.
I have been chasing them through their complaints team within the 'Directors' office which is probably the same place.
The chap I have ben dealing with did ring back yesterday as promised and told me that the payment is with a director awaiting being signed off(due to the sum involved) - he promised to chase it up and get back to me by Tuesday.
Fingers crossed - This has been going on over a year so a couple of days extra wont hurt.
I told them that due to the amount involved, I would rather the money be in my account than theirs and he laughed saying that if he was me ,so would he.

I will write back to them straight away and keep you posted!
Thanks ever so much. I was feeling pretty despondent when I got the letter this morning - you have given me renewed hope. Thank you. xx
Hi Ruth -I agree totally with cappo.
I have had the self and same situation with M&S (on behalf of Mrs) who knocked her claim back for the same reasons.
I wrote to them asking them to re consider due to the fact the the application form stated that they 'strongly advised' that ppi cover was taken out - along with the fact that Mrs job detailed on the apllication form(NHS) meant she didnt need it nor was she was advised that she didnt need it etc.
They also tried to say that she had applied in her own time - absolutley rubbish - it was an in store application, carried out under pressure at the tills when paying for goods under the guise of '10% off if you sign up today'etc.
Got another reply telling her that they are not budging for the reasons previously advised etc etc take it to FOS.
So that is where it is now.......It will take a while I know but I am confident it will get upheld.
Dont give up - Fight 'em.

Hi aj i think all the banks are snowed under at the moment, it's all there fault so don't feel too sorry for them, i have one in with the fos been in for 6 months don't think it's even moved off a caseworkers desk yet. be patient no news might be good news.
Thanks, cappo. What really annoys me is my latest letter sent to Barclays on 20th Sep has, yet again, not been acknowledged. It contained further information to, hopefully, prove I was mis-sold PPI. That's just unacceptable customer service.0 -
I have just discovered my Barclaycard VISA has PPI on it. This account was opened up between 15 and 20 years ago, so I can't remember if I applied by post, or in person somewhere.
Will Barclaycard tell me how long I have had the card, and how it was opened, or would asking them this make my case weaker?
Thanks.
*eta* This is still an active card that I use, and the PPI is still on the card now.0 -

Hi debs if you are still using the card it is active and it has ppi on it you should be able to go back to when you first had the card and claim back from the opening date.0 -
Good news my o/h has now found our mortgage paperwork which proves we had credit protection insurance (ppi), she worked in local government at the time, we should'nt have too much trouble with that one lol.0

Hi all
I was just wondering if anybody had any experience with a PPI reclaim from Lloyds TSB. I sent my claim in back in June and they confirmed to receiving it. Since then I have made a number of calls and then on 14th September 2011, they said they sent me an acceptence letter, which I never received. They said they couldn't re-send it, as it was not allowed and I would have to accept over the phone. I was a bit unsure about this as without a letter, I wasn't sure as to what I was accepting, but they said they we offering me 100% compensation + 8% interest. They then went on to say I would be getting a calculations letter shortly in the post, but every week nothing comes and every week I call them asking for it. They keep saying, it will be with you in the next week and there is a back log of sending letters, but nothing ever arrives!! Does anyone know how long it takes to receive this letter or who I can complaint to, to get them to do something.....0 -

Thanks. How do I found out the opening date, just call Barclaycard and ask them? Will it matter than I can't remember how I first applied for the card?0 -
