PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi everyone,
I sent a letter a couple of months ago using the guidelines on this site with regards to claiming back PPI. The letter was sent to HSBC, but they have not even replied yet! What is your advice? Do i send another letter to them asking for a more satisfactory response? Or do i go straight to the Ombudman for further action?
My claim is in relation to credit card PPI, it was sold to me in branch when i needed a small loan for a car but they persuaded me to get a credit card and advised me to take PPI, and i agreed to it thinking nothing of it. I am positive i am owed hundreds of pounds.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks a lot. Ben0 -

Hi Ben
Did you send the the reclaim questionnaire to make a complaint?
As on step 3 below
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step3
If you've not even received a letter to confirm they have received your complaint questionnaire, you could chase them up, by either ringing them or emailing at the CEO dept, in hope they deal with it quicker, tell them you've not heard a thing since making a complaint.
chiefexecutivehsbcbank@hsbc.com
Not sure if you aware, but the main of the banks including this one was given extra time by the FSA, the norm is that of 8 weeks, but they were previously given 16 weeks due to backlogs and at the start of last month down to 12 weeks for the time being before it goes back to the usual 8 weeks again.
So depending how long you sent your complaint will depend on the time you will be waiting.
Still you should have received a letter to confirm they will be dealing with it.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

barry.tootell@cfs.coop
Also when and how do i take a complaint to ICO?
thanks
Lisa
Hi Lisa
The contact details of the Information commissioners office (ICO) are below, you can ring, email or write to them, by emailing it may take a bit longer, so personally maybe a phone call will be better.;)

Thanks
Give it a go, and yes there have been much success even on DMP, although if the account is the one with the DMP, they may use the refund towards the account, anything remaining plus interest should be paid directly to you.
And you pursue the ones who sold/set up your account, good luck x;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Just a quick question I recently accepted RSB's offer for being miss sold ppi, in there letter they say they will endeavour to pay the money in to my natwest current account with in 28working days, have many people recieved there money with in this time scale ??, they have stuck to there word so far in getting the claim looked at but I don't want to be to hopeful, they've had my acceptance for since 05-09-11 so they should pay up by 14-10-11.
Well done!:T & Congratulations!
I've not had any dealings with this bank myself but many have done.
Hope you receive your refund in the account on time if not before.
Fingers crossed. x:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi ben this is strange they should have acknowledged your complaint within 2 weeks but i think with the fos giving HSBC more time the fos will just say that they were given an extension and you will have to give them more time, i'd contact them initially and see what they say. good luck0 -

I did send them a letter asking the figures to be re looked at because I have found a statement in August 2001 to say that i had a balance of 4k but according to them i only opened the account in may 2001 and i didn't do a credit transfer, but heard nothing from them.
The cheque letter says in full and final settlement so do i cash the cheque and if i do can i still ask MBNA to re look at the figures?
Thanks
Lisa
That is fab news Lisa :T Congratulations!
Maybe you would be better if you contacted them first before you pay in the cheque, but that is up to you of course xx;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
