Give them a ring on the complaints number, put a complaint in re your info and tell them the delay is unacceptable and you will inform the ICO if they do not address your complaint now.0 -
I am thinkning of putting in a claim for a couple of credit cards. I took these out online years ago. I cant remember if I ticked the box or the box was pre ticked or not for paymnet protection. I know that I have been paying it over the years and I have cancelled these three years ago as I went on a DMP. I am wondering if anyone has had any success when they are on a DMP.

Just come home to my cheque from MBNA for £8,500 , they have used the other £500 to pay off my credit card account. I put in the claim on 3rd August, was notified on the 8th September that my claim had been upheld and received the cheque today 1st October.:j:T
I did send them a letter asking the figures to be re looked at because I have found a statement in August 2001 to say that i had a balance of 4k but according to them i only opened the account in may 2001 and i didn't do a credit transfer, but heard nothing from them.
The cheque letter says in full and final settlement so do i cash the cheque and if i do can i still ask MBNA to re look at the figures?
Thanks

Hi
Nothing from them for me yet. I am exactly the same dates as yours so fingers crossed that the weekend of the 14th will be a good oneTwenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. Hi Catwoman
Can't comment on the CC but I have reclaimed loans from Natwest and 2 from MBNA and I am on a dmp. As fair as I am concerned these charges probably helped tip me over the edge financially and led me to the DMP. My natwest OD has been paid off by the repayment and left an addidtional amount, on the MBNA still awaiting the numbers.
So you have nothing to lose - go for it.
I think that they can apply the payment to any arrears thoughTwenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Hi Lisa
Congratulations thats a nice start to the weekend.
Can I just ask was it just a letter saying they had upheld and then a cheque? I had a letter 14th Sept saying upheld but don't know if I should be getting a breakdown of the reclaim or if they jsut sent the cheque.
If you have a statement in 2001 showing £4k it wouldn't harm to call them
