Its good to have an MP on stand-by, which I would consider asking myself if it came to it, well worth thinking about.;)

Steve, we are all behind you every step of the way honey, and everything as always crossed for you xx:beer:

    Hi
    Are these all separate complaints?

I understand Currys taken over Dixons, but also taken over the liabilities as well.;)

    Hi,
Sorry Di I have been as clear as mud!
My hubby has been looking throught old paperwork and came across a finance agreement for Dixons/Currys and discovered that he unknowingly had PPI (box was pre-crossed) Finance company at the time was Halifax Cetelem (now ceased trading), however in amongst paperwork it mentions HFC and that the insurers was Pinnacle (which is our next port of call, I don't know whether they will be able to tell us who finance company was or if indeed the PPI was with them.)
He has been in touch with HFC, who are saying that they can't find anything on their system, have given them bank DD reference number etc!
They are telling us that they were not the only company that dealt with Dixons/Currys - but aren't letting on who other company are!!
I don't know whether Halifax Cetelem was a subsiduary of HFC or another company and that is what i'm trying to find out :o
Hope that is a bit clearer!
    Thanks again

    Hi
    No worries.:D;)

With one of mine, the broker had dissolved, so I requested for the policy details from the lender who were still active, and they sent them in the post.
You do not usually receive these details at the time you receive copies of other paperwork after taking out the account, and are generally requested for in case of a claim to be made, for example:
    Sickness/unemployment etc.

However, you have the right to request for the insurance policy document at any-time and the lender if the broker dissolved should provide them in the post.
The details of the insurer/underwriter are enclosed on the policy details.

As you will be aware the FOS are only able to adjudicate the complaint if the business were covered/regulated, so in my case this was why it went the underwriter/insurer direction originally suggested by the FOS, as they would have been regulated unlike then the broker at the time.

If your having trouble in getting hold of the details, maybe the FOS will write to the other businesses on your behalf, if you ask them to do so on your behalf perhaps, maybe worth a shot, make them aware that your having trouble in finding out who the insurer was and the company are not letting on.

    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html

Hope this info helps for now, I take it you have already tried writing to them to request for the details? x;)

Right....getting the impression they don't know their !!!! from their elbow.

Had a letter dates 31 August saying I was due redress of £2292.46. Letter never arrived, called them and they sent out a replacement. Fine, 40 working days the money will be in your account.

Phoned them today as I've not seen any money to date. Advised that a second letter went out on 20 September (also never arrived) with a figure of £3122.20 - but that it would be 40 working days from then.

Nobody appears to know what the hell is going on - it's been since May that I made my original complaint. I just want paying.

Is there anything I can do to speed things up, as they are advising me I 'cannot jump the queue'.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me , I emailed the CEO expressing my concerns over this . He had someone from head office call me on Tuesday this week , I was promised a call from the claims resolution dept by today , no call today !!!
Rang again this morning , the head office chap said all he can do is send an email requesting that they make contact asap . I find this hard to believe , if the CEO can't even make them contact me then what hope is there !!!
I think , like everyone else , I am just being given the run around , they have no intention of paying in a reasonable timescale and will use every delaying trick they can to make us wait as long as possible.
Once they have admitted that the PPI was mis-sold , I don't understand how legally they can hang on to the money for so long without giving a clear date by which we will get the money.

Sorry to hear you're having the same problems as me.

Could you provide me with the contact details for the CEO? I'll write an email also, for what it's worth.

    Hi honey

I go by 40 calendar days, so that would be straight days, including weekends.;)
