  • Hello People - Just thought I would ask yet another question. I have been advising family to put in claims for missold ppi and my dear little sister has decided to send all her loan details to me so that I can do it for her (she would only mess it up anyway). My question is "As all of the loans are for the same account with the same bank do I need to fill in a separate form for each one or can I put them all on the same form" (all of them have the same reasons for misselling).

Interestingly this is what her bank said to her when she went in to get the loan account numbers this morning:

"Just been to the bank. The girl reckons that you can claim for all loans within reason for ppi. She has given me all my loan numbers that I have had over the years. She said even though I dont have the paper work the loan numbers should suffice. She also said to say that it was a mandatory condition of the loan that u had to take PPI out. She reckons I've got nowt to lose but suggests I do it fast. Her boss has also told her it doesnt matter how long ago it was and that you can go back further than the 6 years".

    Thanks for any advice folks.

Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know that there are now new timescales that the banks are using and for those claims made recently they have.................wait for it............ up to 16 WEEKS in which they have to reply to you. Actually getting the cash back with take even longer! Good luck on your reclaiming though, it'll be worth it in the end. :) Awaiting £2k from Lloyds which I'm told will be here by Next Wednesday!

    Regards

    Ruth

Is that just for new claims made or for replies after sending back signed acceptance forms too?
  • Hi all,

    I'm new to the forum.

I was wondering whether I had any case for missold ppi. I have a Natwest credit card, going back to 1999. I have been paying ppi on it I think since then. However I do not have the original credit agreement. I was advised at the time that it would be beneficial for me to have it. However I have never really needed it. I've been completely ignorant about ppi and have never really paid much attention to it, when I've seen news about misselling on the news.

I do understand there is a time limit for claims. Is there any likelihood that I have a case, or have I lost my chance?

So have I, I should charge commision, to everyone I've sent to claim it back:rotfl:

AFAIK, the rule of thumb is six years, they can go further, provided they have documentation at their end to look at. All I did in my case was ring the bank, tell them to look into all PPI cases I may have had in the past, and put in a claim for all..stating reasons for such. Ithats all I've done, not even given any account numbers or loan agreements etc, as I'm blonde and don't keep such things like that for long....well, keep them in a place I can find at least!

I've already had 16 weeks. They've already replied. I've accepted the offer of all my money to be given back, but am now waiting for them to cough up. Now its a wait for the '8' weeks recommended for them to do so. after the other 16 weeks.

Hi ccl this i think depends on the bank, i've just put 5 complaints into HSBC and they wanted 5 separate questionaires even though the reasons were the same, i'm now going to fill out a fos questionaire for LTSB well two for 2 credit card accounts this way if you do have to fos the complaint you have specific complaints for the fos to address. good luck.:)

hi and welcome to the forum, yes you very much can put in a claim, a lot of the time this 6 year rule doesn't really apply although the banks will use it to there advantage, contact the bank by phone to put a complaint in, a lot of banks will do this, i've just reclaimed on a loan from 1995, you sound like you have reasons for a misale i'd say go for it

    Hello everyone,
Am new to this forum and will appreciate any help. I got the following response from Northern Rock after submitting the reclaim PPi template letter.

Thank you for your recent contact with NRAM. Unfortunatley we do not have a resolution for your complaint at present. However, once we have completed our investigations, we will respond in full. Meanwhile we will keep you informed of the progress made and will write to you again as soon as we can.

We are regulated by the FSA and they advise you to complete our Internal Compalints Procedure first. I hope therefore that you wil give us more time to continue looking into your complaint. However, i must make aware that you may refer matters to the financial ombudsman service, at any time.

So, what do you think?how long should i have to wait before stepping up the complaint?anyone experienced this?

Hi and welcome to the forum, you should'nt have too much longer to wait now ,any wait now is going to be less than putting in a new complaint at the fos, sometimes these things take a while, HSBC have now gone over the 4 week deadline for calculations with mine but you might as well wait now, keep us informed.
