  • Does anyone know what the success rate is with HFC bank when taking them to the Ombudsman after initial rejection?

don't know what the fos uphold rates are but i'd say the chances of a successful claim are pretty good with them. good luck

My goodness, that is a fine piece of ammo to fire back at HFC!

I complained about HFC bank and HBOS at the same time. HFC replied to me on 9th July, rejecting my claim on the grounds that I had been presented with all the information I needed at the time of the loan agreement and also that I was made aware that the PPI was not optional and also made aware of the cost and additional interest. This is all untrue and I am surprised they were so quick to reject my complaint, especially as HBOS practically folded and offered me a full refund of all PPI on two loans and a credit card on Friday!

Anyway, after some help from the wonderful Di I will be writing a quite substantial letter to the FOS about HFC Bank along with the relevent questionaire and back up documentation. I will be referring to the link above and I thank you ever so much for bringing this to my attention!

  • Hi All
Think I have seen a compensation calculator on this site for ppi on credit cards as its going to be complicated as I've had the card from 1999 to today although only paid PPI until Dec 2008, then it disappeared from my statement in the Jan 2009, very strange but I have had ppi added for 9 years unnecessarily. Anyone else had this happen to them? Can anyone point me to the calculator please.
    Thanks
    Lisa

    Hi All
Sorry to be asking another question but i have a wallis card, that I put in a claim to Santander, I was told by santander that i had to do 2 claims one to creation cards who i originally took the card out with in Nov 2001-sept 2004 then one to santander took over the account from sept 2004-present. I have done this and at first creation denied any ppi (luckily I have my statements) they are now looking into this again.
Santander have turned me down (even though they paid out for my house of fraser card within 7 days, using the same reasons) so i took it to FLA who werent much help, they wrote to santander and santander turned them down, and so they told me to seek legal advice if i was not happy. I took advice on here and contacted onbudsman who wrote to me on Friday but told me to send all the info plus mis sold questionnaire to Santander. This isnt right is it, I have done this, I thought that i just send it all to the onbudsman including a copy of santanders reply to me and a copy of FLAs reply to me.
    Any thoughts on this
Thanks as always for your time and patience
