Barclays FP have started issuing calculation letters with notices of acceptance where they state they will pay on completion in 28 days. Good news for post April 21st claimees. Thing is I have seen three. One had the figures back to front although cheques added up to correct total. One missed out the refund of ppi payments and quoted a much lower interest payment and the third instead of crediting the balance of ppi payments off the loan they debited it adding the payments back on to the account instead of off it.

Message be very cautious of FP offer letters. Just a warning. I will keep you updated as and when re First Plus

nice one niggly this will be useful and just like first plus to mess it all up:)

Hi guys sorry to cut in on any conversations now heard back about 2 credit card claims and one small hsbc loan hsbc are upholding first, another 4 to go with them where i'm expecting to hear about the others by end of august, don't know what they are paying yet as there making a payment without admission of liability it doesn't mention actually being a goodwill payment though so whether they'll try to knock my interest i don't know.

    1 mbna (won)
    1 tesco (won)

    2 creditcards,1 loan hsbc (won) T.D

    That's good news Cappo :T:j

Fingers crossed it will be putting you back in the position as if no ppi added, plus the interest etc, fingers crossed and well done!

has anyone used gadstone brooks to claim ppi?

martin would recomment using a claim company?

    thanks

    Hi and welcome

It's not suggested on here by the main of us, it's more straight forward and possibly less hassle if you have a go yourself, and this way you will get to keep all your refund.

Write one yourself, stating any additional reasons or not as you wish, the questionaire should be enough, everything the bank needs to know will be on there(a covering letter is not a requirement, the fos questionaire is now being used by hsbc as the idea is that if your complaint is rejected the questionaire is passed back to the fos without having to re write the complaint) good luck

    Hi Nikkilala,
I've had a similar experience. I got my recording. On the recording the agent said the ROP (Repayment Option Plan) was 99p for every £100. The max I've had on my card is £1000 and some months they were taking in excess of £20 - so wrote in April to say something along the lines of... yes I agreed to it, but on the basis it was 99p for every £100 of debt. They've misled me, therefore missold the policy and I want my money back.
Sent my letter in May - I've had no reply. Sent a repeat letter at the end of July, no response. Phoned today at 5pm and someone called me back at 7.45pm - sadly was shopping so couldn't talk. Promised they'd call back tomorrow. We'll see.
I'll update as soon as I've spoke to them.

That's precisely my next argument with them, the amount that they
have been taking out is far in excess of 99p per £100.I too will keep this one updated;)
    Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:

  • Hi guys.... Just wondering if anyone has done the same as me....

I tried to reclaim PPI on a £5000 natwest loan back in 2009 (i think), natwest said it wasn't mis-sold but as a gesture of goodwill for being a good customer offered me £750 as settlement...

My question is do anyone think it is worth trying to get the whole amount based on the recent ruling or am i flogging a dead horse?

    Anyone tried this?

Also...i tried to claim back my Littlewoods catalogue PPI at the same time, got told to get lost really.... But i have just received a letter saying they are looking into their customer service at the time i was declined and could re-open my case.. Fingers crossed :-)
