PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

  • Hello. My PPI claim on a Halifax loan was acknowledged by them on 9th May and I received a letter saying they now had 16 weeks to respond from that date. I just wanted to ask someone who may know; if they do not meet the 16 week deadline (9th September), what is the next course of action I can take?
I realise that this is unlikely, but I just want to be prepared in case something goes wrong.

    Thanks.

I'd try them first nik,i've never heard of them to be honest though keep copies in case they deny liability and ask you to send it somewhere else and send everything by recorded you probably know all that already though lol

Will do, Just made copies of it all and put it in my ppi folder that is getting fatter everyday! Will start with them and see where I get, have explained to OH to be prepared to be in this for the long haul. Saying that he has put quite a few bits and pieces with B Thornton at the beginning of the year without telling me, he thought he was being clever by doing it off his own back, and mine that I have done through the template are coming through quicker than his with a company. He has been told off big time by me, especially as he has now told me that he has given them his credit card that he uses for work stuff and has had for 5 years and the average ppi payment per month is about £70!!!! He'll learn when he see's what their fees are going to be;)

Should I send the claim form to igroup servicing ltd or does anyone know if they are part of another financial company TIA:)

iGroup were a brokering company but are part of GE Money, so I imagine the loan was actually with GE.
Its amazing how these banks can't even do simple calculations correctly..............

Well contacted OPUS, to be told they have sent the final response, not sure if that is good or not as they cant tell me what the letter says. so now to hassle the postman every morning until it arrives.

"Final Responce" doesnt sound good though.

    Hi,
I asked LTSB for T&C for my cc, waited 5/6 weeks after me phoning on a weekly basis, finds out they haven't got them (cc opened 1996) I have put in a claim for the misselling of PPI and i'm now thinking of trying to claim back charges so have sent a SAR because 1 I don't fully trust them with regard to not being able to find paperwork and 2 need info for charges!
If they are telling truth and can't find necessary paperwork relating to PPI, how can they process claim?
Also I had 2 loans with direct line in the 90,s but don't have any documentation, how can I find out about PPI on them, without any numbers etc?

Did anyone see the announcement by MBNA yesterday that they are closing their UK credit card business and pulling out of the UK & Ireland market altogether ?

Must be down to all of these PPI claims they're about to uphold !!!!

Fingers crossed they pay out derwent - i am waiting for cc & loan ppi.
I emailed a guy called paul yesterday, he said that he is waiting refund information on the cc, however, i have not received anything to say i it has been upheld?? so i dont know. He also said he would deal with my loan complaint when this has been rectified, so eyes, fingers, legs & toes crossed!! ha :Dxx

So pleased, just phoned the OH claims company and kicked up massively about the fact that they've had some of his claims since the beginning of the year, he's heard nothing, they wanted to put them straight to the FOS apparently, total mess. Told them that I wanted to handle them all myself now, they said their will be an £85 an hour charge for any work that has already been done, did I still want to cancel with them. I asked for an exact cancellation figure which they then phoned back 10 mins later and said that their would be no fee as they had made a bit of a mess with his claims. Thanks to everyone on here because when I argued with them at first about what they'd actually done I knew exactly what I was talking about and when they said about the financial ombudsman I said, with a big puff and sigh "What on earth are you trying to take it to the FOS for it will take even longer?" I think I frightened them with my MSE knowledge:rotfl::rotfl:Onwards and upwards, busy afternoon filling in his forms and two I know are biggies:T

Can see me living on this thread for the next few afternoons while I try and sort out my OH's mess! First card I'm starting on is MBNA. He opened the card whilst going on a business trip, at Stansted airport. The girl came up to him while he was at a check in and asked if he wanted the card and the incentive on it was free flights reward system. She filled in all the form for him and he just signed it. According to him their was no mention of ppi and it definately wasnt explained. I have the date the card started and he's still paying ppi to this day, last months ppi cover was £51!! Do I need to get MBNA to send me the agreement first as he hasnt got it or can I just fill in the form with the date the card started and all the info about how he was sold the ppi.TIA
