PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

I've just declared war on MBNA.
Got an email from one of their customer services people last Friday to say complaint upheld and a formal response would be issued by today, as the claim was in the final calculation stage.
Nothing in today's post so rang up their Customer Advocate Office. Told them about the email I'd received. The lady checked on the system and said I don't know why you were sent that because your claim is still being investigated and has not been passed for calculation, and it is going to be another 3 weeks or so before the investigation is completed. She then said that the email I got wasn't recorded on my case file.
So it appears that their staff are blatantly lying to people to get rid of you when you contact them. I've copied the email to their CEO demanding an explanation of why he thinks it is acceptable for his staff to deliberately lie to customers and why I should not report this to the FOS. It'll be interesting to see what their response is (if they respond at all that is).
Your time will come.. Just recieved a letter in post today from MBNA
Chq within 28 days for £7980.. Now just got to wait untill it arrives HAPPY DAYS:j:j:j0 -
Hi,
I've made a claim against HFC for mis sold ppi which they've said they'll uphold and I'm just waiting for them to tell me how much money they've robbed me of... Sorry I mean how much redress I'm due!
What I wanted to ask the forums opinion on though is actually making a claim against Natwest for credit card ppi (and bank charges but I think that's another thread). The cc was "sold" to me in around 2000 when I applied for a current account. The cc was more or less sold as a feature of the current account. There is an outstanding balance of around £4k on the cc although it hasn't been in use for about 4 years and I haven't made regular payments since then.
Now for the amusing bit, I wasn't told at the time that I could get ppi anywhere and nor did they ask what benefits etc my employer offered that may help to cover me if I was sick etc., they didn't need to as I was working for Natwest at the time (I was in support services before I shed load of pitch forks come my way!). I wasn't even told that it was optional, just that it was something you got with the cc and was a good way of protecting me (was it f@!?). When I was unemployed for 6 months and was struggling to keep up with payments turned out it was no good anyway!
I believe I have a valid claim for the misselling of ppi in this case and know the cc number it relates to but can't be sure as to how much I paid in ppi as I don't have all my statements. *finally she gets to a question* should I go straight to claiming for the ppi as I have the account number and know the circumstances of how it was sold to me or should I put in a SARS before starting a claim so I can at least I work out how much ppi I've paid?
Thanks

Hope you dont mind me asking was your claim with HFC with the FOS or had you not got to that stage. As l am awaiting via FOS to hear from HFC with regards my case

Hi all quick question-
Had a phone call from my Mum a few seconds ago, It seems I have leter from Welcome Finace about a Loan I had with them (Car Fiance I think) regarding the PPI i had on it. I didn't even realise I had it on this, and I couldn't even check as I haven't got the paperwork.
Could this be good news and Has anyone else had a letter from them to advise?
Help would be greatly recived
Right I've filled in the Questionaire, and It will be sent off tonight (With some 1st class stamps on it.)
Lets see if we get anything from this0 -

Hi,
I had PPI with a finance agreement with DFS, got rejection letter, saying I was outwith time frame etc. Decided to phone and challenge them - after a bit of to and frowing they said they will refund all premiums paid as a gesture of goodwill.
We are going to accept as payments were £5.78 a month over 36 months - £208.08, so don't think 8% over and above this will make much difference or am I wrong?
Just a big thank you once again to all who take time to reply to my posts without all your good advice I could have never argued the point with them!!0 -
I've received an offer from LloydsTSB, I imagine a lot of people have received this letter. It basically says, please accept what we are GOING to calculate so we can speed up the process. They then outline that this is what they will do:We calculate the refund of the PPI monthly payments that you have paid to date; and
We calculate simple interest at 8% per annum on each of the PPI monthly payments
I should have checked here first, but I accepted anyway, as it looks correct. Does anyone know how long this takes from sending it usually?0 -
Don't know if anyone could help me here with this one.
For the past 3 years my girlfriend has had a personal loan with Lloyd's and until recently i noticed she was paying PPI on this loan since the start, its not a lot (around £20pm)
So before looking into this more i told her to contact her Lloyds and cancel this and find out how much it actually is.
She was told a new agreement is in the post now and she has to sign it and next month it will removed. all seems ok but.....
is it right PPI is included in the monthly DD so only 1 whole amount comes out to Lloyd's? as i thought it would be separate!
She was told in branch (where she got loan from) that they cant give her a statement and she could not get details apart from when it ends, in branch they could not even say the amount of PPI she was paying.
Any advice would be great and should i do a PPI claim as she was under the impression it had to be included for the offer on the loan she got.
Thank You0 -

Hi there
Well done on challenging them, Congratulations, it just goes to show doesn't it?
When it comes to a goodwill offer, they don't always offer the 8%, even though it can add up.The one and only "Dizzy Di"
