Okay, now I have managed to confuse myself with figures and compounding contractual interest, so perhaps one for Tifosi or Niggly et al to confirm or tell me I am a whopper :rotfl:

Credit card ppi payment = £30

    APR 29%

    13 years ago (156 months)

I have just compounded that and I get £821 for that one payment.

    Is that correct????

And then £753 for the payment made the month after.

Nahh, this can't be right surely.

I believe our Niggly is away on his hols this well.:D, so may Tifosi will clarify on this one.:T;)

    Hi there

Get a reclaim in by completing the reclaim questionnaire below and send to their head/complaints office, as you did not know you had PPI its case in my opinion. Go for it.;) If it were the dealer who arranged this then send to them with a "copy of the letter you received"

Someone else received the same sort of letter in the last few days on here, good luck and ask for further help if required.

Its abit weird from memory- it was 5-6 years ago- I was buying from a dealer but the person from welcome took me back to there office to sort it out/

Have you actually got in touch with Welcome to make them aware of this?

And another suggestion if WF are responsible - WF are now also in default and claims are being made through the Financial Compensation Scheme (FSCS), they will deal with cases if the sale taken place on or after 14 Jan 2005, so if this applies to you, you could contact the FSCS as well to see if you can make a claim through them.
Although they may suggest that you still consult WF first, even though they are in default some I believe are still pursuing them for the time being, there is no harm in contacting the FSCS though for advice first.

For any of u folk who like me had an old Alliance n Leicester card now taken over by MBNA, u mite like to know that MBNA are only responsible for your PPI claim from the date they took over the card, any claim prior to that has to be made to Santander. Personally maybe I'm a bit thick but I didn't realise this until today, so in effect you might have to make 2 claims with 2 different companies for the one credit card. My MBNA one has been upheld just waiting patiently (not!) on the cheque, I made the other with Santander today by telephone so fingers crossed!!
