  • Hi All

well today was the day that my 8 week deadline passes so ive just rang MBNA and they have told me that they have not looked at my case yet and they have a new deadline, now call me sceptical but ive never heard of MBNA getting an extention??? so i thought i would esculate tthis to the CEO and get his responce.

They have not been granted an extension, under normal timescales for complaints, they can after the 8 weeks ask for more time to deal with this,or they give you the option to go to FOS,you would be better to wait, the bank will pay up sooner rather than later.

Hi Amersall - thanks for coming back so quick.

If I call them and they still say they can not provide, is there anything I can do or say to get them to speed it up?

If I remember rightly im sure when I applied like I say was a pre-ticked form, all I did was sign and they accepted and sent out my card and confirmation of a limit. Dont recall ever speaking to any sales people at all which is why I really need the application as backup to start my claim.

    Hi there

Sorry not that quick this time :o trust you amersall lmao :rotfl::rotfl:

Have you tried requesting for the paperwork via Subject Access Request (SAR) for this account?

The SAR may be a help if your unable to remember the sale of the policy (hopefully), this normally goes back the last 6 years, some will go beyond that, depending on how lenient the business is as well.

However, if you've not done so and you want to request for data on this account, there is a SAR template you can use below, tweak if required and you enclose the one off payment of £10 cheque or postal order - they then have 40 calendar days to comply.

Hope this helps, but meanwhile follow the advice our lovely amersall have given, the best of luck.;)

    Monument....

I seem to be having trouble finding, but if you ring the FOS I would ask them as they would have had dealings with them both and know the correct contact details, this way you will get it right the first time, hope that helps, good luck.;)
