  • hello everyone :)
new to this, i did claim back my bank charges because of the templates and advice given on this site; cant remember when i actually got the money. cant remember my log in details of that account?
    i progress:
having scanned some of the posts on this thread i am going to dig out all my old bankstatements and find the details of the companies {ive forgotten which ones i was dealing with} and proceed to reclaim all monies owed to me by them.
    i love a david v goliath match.
i intend to keep things updated with all progress.

Hi newbie here, please go easy, I took out a £100k loan with firstplus 2 years ago repayments are £1000 per month for 20 years, they told me I had to take out the PPI, do I have a chance of claiming anything back?
    Thanks

Hi Your PPI must be humungus. I think your chances of the usual route with this are limited. Try getting in touch with Petermb who may be able to guide you here. All the very best luck with this.:D

    Hi All,

Ive got PPI to start reclaiming from 4 different companies, the first of which is Capital One. Ive been putting it off cause im unsure of the legal wording etc even though ive looked at the template letter for stage 1.
Ive tried to put it in my own words but would be grateful if someone could take a look and advise me if its ok, my boyfriend has basically been paying PPI for the last 20 years on his 13 loans hes had with lloyds and their credit card plus other credit card companies. The fool had no idea he was paying it or even what it was as nobody had ever explained it to him nor did he ever look at his statement properly to even notice it.

Anyway are my reasons given for the mis selling valid?

    Dear Sir or Madam,

    Account number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I opened my credit card account with you on 01 October 2004 and having
recently looked at the paperwork for my credit card I now realise that I have been paying for payment protection insurance that I did not know I had taken out and until a week ago I had no idea what payment protection actually was or that I was even paying it.
My girlfriend advised me what it was and immediately on 20February I called and spoke to reference Tom and cancelled it.
I believe you have miss-sold me this policy when I took out the credit card as it was not explained to me what payment protection was, whether I was actually eligible or even if I would require it.
I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.

I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.

    Yours faithfully,

    Hi there

Yes this is great, well done.;)

Remember to send this off by recorded delivery, and keep us posted, hopefully you will be successful first time here but if not write again in case you receive one of LLoyds standard fob off template letters, that "you must have been aware as you signed, blah blah blah" do not worry about that and keep at them, good luck and great letter.;)

    Hi there

Well good luck with this, and if there is any help you may require, give us a yell, you may find a SAR (Subject acces request) a good idea to request all the information they have on you for the last 6 years, the template for this is on the thread if required.;)

Thanks for reading through that Di3004, i`ll do the same letter for all of the cards im reclaiming and send them recorded and i`ll keep you posted.
With regard to Lloyds im wondering if I should claim the PPI on the loans and the credit card together in the one letter to strengthen his case cause they basically added the ppi on the credit card in 1998 when they already knew he had ppi on his loans and subsequent top up loans which they started in 1989.
Do you agree its better to apply for both in the one letter to back up the case?

I really appreciate your advice at this early stage, this site is such a lifeline and I like how much people support each other :T

Trolley Dolley, would you mind if I pinched parts of your letter to put mine together to send to firstplus?
    Thanks

    With pleasure.:A ;)

Personally I would try to keep them separate, but its up to you hun.
Even though you have the same reasons for each, maybe just make them aware in the loan letter you also want them to take a look at the letter enclosed about credit card ppi for the same reasons, they know then they have to still treat these the same as each other.;)
