Thanks for your quick reply and answer to your questions Paragon did issue the money as i still have the remittance advice papers with the cheque numbers printed on them. Plus copies of credit agreement, legal charge, form of consent, all stamped with a stamp saying "certified a true copy of the original paragon personal finance" plus the ppi certificate. so i need to write back to paragon saying what?? even though the letter i got this week was there final responce.

You tell them everything you hold and that this is nothing to do with the company who arranged the loan. Your agreement is with Paragon -- period

Take no notice of the "final response" letter the only final response you will accept is money, get tough with them you have a contract

which is the biggest news paper out there - could we not just give a story to them especially on CAP 1 to be investigated - as they are not playing ball at all.

    yeah its me still moaning.

Anyone know the email address for the CEO for CAP 1.

FOS have now taken my complaint waiting for their paper work so will see.

Afternoon all, received a response from Northern Rock today stating that they have no record of any loan made to me at any time, despite me quoting a partial loan reference number as detailed on my credit report! Am I missing something? All par for the course I guess.
Does anyone have the name of the ceo of Northern Rock please.
    Many thanks
    DM

Wohoo just to let you know I have had a phone call from the claims company dealing with my HFC PPi and they have awarded me £1350.
Also JD Williams Simply be sent me a final notice refusing my claim, so I rang them today and spoke to the claims manager.
I argued that I did not take out the PPi over the phone and asked if they had transcripts of the phone calls, she said they had, but after listening to me politely stating my case and the fact that the letter said I had benefited from the PPI(never claimed) It was called PAP(Personal account protection)She agreed to refund my PPi and was very nice after I stated that I was in the process of sending my documents to the ombudsman.
Please don't give up if you are waiting , keeping calling for updates as advised by these brilliant folks on this site.Thank youxxx

could i just confirm some information please?
as my secured loan is still running (and will be for another 14 years), would any reclaimed ppi through the fscs be paid off my loan amount outstanding, or would i receive a cheque if successful in my claim?
i only ask because we are currently on a dmp, and it almost feels that money to help pay off the multiple creditors we are dealing with through this would be better than money coming off the outstanding loan amount. are there ways to request something different to the norm, in cases such as this?
Hi there, the FSCS are taking all refunds off the loans.
Dont know if you would get anywhere if you went down the hardship route?,give FSCS a ring and ask.

    morning one and all
first time on here and after a bit of advice
took out a loan with Paragon Finance for £15000 with a ppi of 2025 added in March 2003
i have got all the paperwork for this loan plus a cash back certificate saying that they would pay back the ppi on the 10th anniversary if i had not claimed basically
sent off my consumer questionnaire etc with copies of there paperwork
got a reply yesterday from paragon saying that the application for the loan was submitted by a broker called Loanmaker Ltd who are no longer trading and they handled all paperwork and only forwarded it to paragon once we had signed the credit agreement?
they also say that as the loan completed before 14 January 2005 the sale of insurance was not regulated by the fsa, Is that true?
On the certificate of ppi insurance it does say that the insurance has been specially arranged for customers of paragon who have a secured loan.
the insurance was underwritten by London and Edindurgh insurance ltd
what road do i need to go down now help!!
Hi there, you need to put a claim into the insurer for mis sell, when they reply to you with a "get lost" then the FOS can take this on.

The broker got Paragon to give you the loan,so they in effect sold this to you,as they have gone bust and your loan is pre 2005 then you now have to go for the insurer, as they may have been regulated.
You never know the insurer may just pay up.

They are a susiduary of AVIVA

Just want to say thank you to klflosser. I emailed Ian O'Doherty (CEO MBNA) this morning regarding my outstanding cheque for £1500 and got a phone call literally 10 mins later to say my cheque will be posted out tonight and was very apologetic about the delay. Thank you soo much! :D

Well done. Pleased to hear they are sending the cheque. Much better in your bank account than theirs.
