Hi everyone, I am a new poster but have been reading this forum for several weeks and I have finally summoned up the courage to post a question so I hope this is readable.

I had a store card for Evans (run by GE) set up in 1995, which was then taken over by Santander. I tried claiming back PPI at the end of 2009 but received what I now know to be a fob-off letter, so I re-submitted my PPI claim mid-May 2011 on the grounds of not asking about employment and not advising me that it was optional. I have a copy of the original agreement (kindly supplied by Santander in 2009) which clearly shows a line through the employment questions and a big "A" which I take to mean approved. Santander have just sent me a letter saying that they can find no trace of original
paperwork or the agreement and that they always followed the current financial guidelines so were rejecting my claim and referring me to the FLA.

So, do I carry on and send them a copy of the original agreement and say look harder or do I go to the FLA (who are they?)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and if there is an email address for Santander or the CEO I can get things going today.

I would re-submit the claim with everything you have (copies only), if you were not asked about employment issues or had the optionality of the policy explained to you i think you have a fairly strong case,I've had these problems myself with LTSB you have to stick in there all of us do and prepare for a fight, the banks have made it plain once again that they don't want to play by the rules. Whats sauce for the goose guys is sauce for the gander, fight until you've got no more fight left (i don;t mean literally fight lol)

  • I am trying to be very organised. I have created a spread sheet which I update, more or less daily at the moment, with all the "happenings" of my claims!! I have yet another pile of letters ready to go off to various companies in reply to their varying "fob off" letters. I just hope I get some good news soon and feel that all my work hasnt been in vain!!!

Good luck to everyone I think we all need it at the moment!!

    Thanks Di,

It's for a credit card. Will send it off first thing in the morning.

I also need to send a FOS questionnaire to Sainsbury's Bank (for my Dad again! ;)) It's for a credit card. Thing is I don't know the address to send it to. I sound really lazy but I have done a google search and come up with nothing, although I did find out Sainsbury's is part of BOS.

Any info would be great. Thanks :T

It really shouldn't be that hard to get the banks to play fair...I actually thought that the Judicial Review would compell them to behave in a more professional way to their customers...( how naive am I?:o)

They are fobbing us off, stalling and generally behaving like cowboys..it's shameful..hopefully that won't stop us getting our money!

Keep going...you have come this far!:) x
