I don't know Di,i really don't know what to make of it,the only thing i can think of is that they don't have any information on my credit card account and are trying to bluff me out, but i will get to the bottom of it,don't know whether to sar them as it goes back to the early 90's or to cca them? i don't expect any reasonable behaviour from them now, i'm just surprised i got them to admit to 1 loan the cc is obviously for more money and this undoubtably is what it's all about.

Cappo my brother in law is going through something similar at the moment with them as well, but he was supposed to calling into the branch sometime this week as well, will have to contact him and asked if he's been yet.
He was sold ppi on a business loan in the early 2000's, he emailed them but was told they could not find anything, so he said he will call into the bank directly and get them on the computer in front of him to take a look.

Hi folks, we shouldnt have gotten so excited last night about the frontloaded ppi on loans. We got replies back from bank of scotland (halifax) today re paperwork. We gave them dates, amounts but only the last four digits of account number. Got the info from experian. Response today says that they cant provide details as we've given incomplete details. What next guys? Any advice? Is this the end? Really think we had ppi added at time, so annoyed that we dont have paperwork. All within the six yr cutoff so really thought they would have info.

This seems like its happening a lot lately.

    Do you have online banking?
This should allow you to go back to about 2002, the account numbers are normally shown next to where the loan payments came out.
My SAR request I received went back as far as the early 2000's, and some i believe from the late 90's.
If you have not checked on old statements yet, I would do this first, failing that call into your branch and ask them to check the filing computer systems for you. Speak to the branch manager.

For a SAR which is optional these cost £10 cheque or postal order and they have 40 calendar days to comply, you normally require an account no for this, but give them as many details as possible otherwise.

I would do the above first though, good luck.

mmm this has got me thinking do you think hsbc might have told me fibs about ppi on my credit card?? i had a letter from them saying they couldnt find any evidence of me having ppi on it? just wondering id they was a bluff, i thought they might be right as i have old statements and there is no sign on a monthly payment coming out for ppi but then i have seen some one commment that the ppi might not show up on monthly statements but still could have been added ???? confused lol
