as i understood kay cant you re open the case with santander once you get the info from hm revenue?? this is what i was told on the phone

Thats right but they are continually moving the goalposts.
Their first letter said they wanted the information by the 20th june, the one I received this morning said because they had not received it by the 14th the case was now closed.
Thats why I am angry - I would have probably had the information by the 20th ( have now been waiting 3 weeks )

    Hi Kay

So sorry to hear that and I am feeling  for you.
Its not fair that they expected you to get hold of the details just like that.
So yes complain to the FOS but also complain to Santander that as a customer of Santander you don't believe they have been fair in regards of this issue, where they should have been more lenient and taken extra time into consideration whilst waiting for the information from HMRC.

So basically even though you can make a start on complaining to the FOS, maybe just maybe Santander will decide to hold their horses for a little bit longer at least.
Didn't they previously say they would give more time?
    Thanks Di,
They originally said the 20th, I phoned them and said it may take longer. As I have just explained above they are now saying because they did not receive it by the 14th the case is closed.
I still have not received the information they require but they said they would start a new case once I did.
Whats annoyed me is the swapping of the dates which seems unreasonable. Kayx
  • HI all - finally got my statements from Nat West today re the credit card I had. They only sent them for the past 6 years but I originally opened this account on 28/11/2000 (if you have read my previous posts I didnt have to pay the standard £10 the girl just said she would sort it for me, which was very kind of her but I had had a messing around with them). The credit card was originally a Nat West Air Miles card but when Air Miles stopped being involved it just became an ordinay Air Miles card. If this is held up by Nat West and they decide to pay me out what they owe me (but the way my luck is going I somehow cant see them doing it, its just the way my luck seems to go) will they have to go back to 2000 or just to 2005 as this is just where the statements they have sent me go back to.

Also I e-mailed David Chan from Barclays on Monday and never received a reply so I e-mailed him again yesterday and have now got an "underliverable" e-mail message back from the one I sent yesterday!!! So I bet everyone and his dog is now e-mailing him and his inbox is full up!!

    Hi there

I would do what some have been doing.
Just go on to make the reclaim, if you still have account numbers, use them.

Do you still have the account numbers?

I'm not sure. I'm going to my Dad's this weekend to see if they are in the attic. I have my fingers crossed.

If I don't have the numbers is there a way around it?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

its is very naughty of them to give you one date and then change it the next id def phone them to complain about that!!!! might be worth holding on b4 you go the fos until you have the hm revenue info and send it to santander the last person i spoke to said i wouldnt need to send in another form or letter to re open the case just to send the extra info in, although i have phoned twice now asking for the person who is dealing with my case to give me a call back and they havent as yet :(

    Hi there

Are you saying that they have added and that you have been paying for ppi and never asked for it?

You do not need to calculations to make a reclaim, but if you were paying for this, you could write to them and ask them the amount, or even ring them if you want to, the only other way would be to request a SAR (Subject Access Request) for more data on the account to be sent to you, the only thing here is this costs £10 cheque or postal order and can take up to 40 calendar days to arrive.

I would ask first if they can supply the amounts to you first without the need of the SAR.

If you do decide to want to send a SAR for all your data, there is a letter template below you can tweak to your requirements, good luck.
