i will contact you in four weeks from the date of this letter
i am still waiting for a phone call from the person who is dealing with my case from santander who was on holiday last week or so i was told and that they would ring last monday but not heard anything:mad:
I think as well now we're going to hear of a slow up in cases since the fsa have given the banks more time to investigate claims but this should benefit us all in the end as hopefully so many cases won't be getting rejected now and sent to the fos and i would think this is why it might have been done, the banks will not have so many cases rejected on a frivalous basis so in the end hopefully even though the cases are going to take longer they won't be going to the fos for another delay, keep strong. (now found out over the road extension is only for barclays, rbs and LTSB.)0 -

Hi there
I understand whilst there is a complaint ongoing they will deal with this then once resolved they will cancel your ppi repayments, then reduce your monthly payments.
Even though your entitled to cancel at anytime, but hopefully you won't be waiting too long now.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi Di,
Well I would like to think so but after them previously giving me the run around I don't hold much hope!
By the way on a slightly different subject, can we use the bank charges calculator to work out how much PPI plus interest we're owed? Or does it not work like that?
Thanks in advance
If you have figures and want to know if the redress is right, just post on here and i am sure someone will helo you, unless someone on here knows where you can calculate your ppi.0 -

If you win the whole ppi is taken off the loan (if the loan is still running) this reduces your balance, the ppi monthly amount is taken off your loan and your monthly payment reduces by this.
If you cancel you get a small rebate of the insurance, the redone loan may be a longer term or apr.
And your balance does not reduce.
If you win your claim, then you will get ppi and interest to the day they uphold your claim.0 -
Hello,
Ihad the same last week (Monsoon store card ) I rang HMRC and they told me it would take a few weeks to get the information to me regarding contributions ( same circumstances , I was unemployed, my husband self employed ). Rang Santander the other day and told them I could not get the info to them by the required date which is 20th June. They went on to say the case would be closed but they would re-open it when they received the information.
Seems to be a few of us in the same position. I think they are hoping we will give up and go away.
Kay x
Update and I am
Letter received from Santander today stating that seeing as how they have not received my employment details by the 14 th June the case is now closed.
The original letter they sent said they wanted the information by the 20th June which was still probably not long enough for HMRC to send the details.
Like I said, they make the rules up as they go along.
Is it worth me sending a complaint to FOS ?
Thanks Kay0 -

They have a nerve if you ask me.
You could ring them back and threaten them with FOS as they have not given you adequate time to do what they ask,as HMRC gave a timescale to get this to you.0 -
Hi All
I just have a quick question in regards to PPI.
I had 4 store cards that were taken out around 1998-2000. In 2006 I transferred the balances to a credit card and paid it off. I'm sure I had PPI on 3 of these cards as I was told it would make my application easier. I paid this for 6 to 8 years until I closed the cards.
Unfortunately when I went travelling my credit card went to a debt company and Lloyds have no record of the card on file and therefore cannot tell me when the exact date that I made the transferor for how much. I know that it was just under £4000 though.
So that was 2006, before Santander bought the store cards from GE money. Can I still claim and how can I find out how much I paid.
Many thanks in advance.0 -

Hi Kay
So sorry to hear that and I am feeling  for you.
Its not fair that they expected you to get hold of the details just like that.
So yes complain to the FOS but also complain to Santander that as a customer of Santander you don't believe they have been fair in regards of this issue, where they should have been more lenient and taken extra time into consideration whilst waiting for the information from HMRC.
So basically even though you can make a start on complaining to the FOS, maybe just maybe Santander will decide to hold their horses for a little bit longer at least.
Didn't they previously say they would give more time? The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi there
I would do what some have been doing.
Just go on to make the reclaim, if you still have account numbers, use them.
Do you still have the account numbers? The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
