PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi everyone,
Congratulations to you all who has had success over the past few days! They seem to be rolling in now, and about time too!!
Well after my success with Black Horse a week ago, i've been patiently waiting to hear from Halifax regarding 3 complaints with them. But still nothing! So I sent another email to the CEO this evening, we will see what happens. I will keep at them because i'm sure it was this that prompted Black Horse to deal with my complaints all of a sudden. I will let you know the response I get.
That's great news about Barclays. Shame i only sent my FOS questionnaire to them on 27th May! But that was their stalling tactics after waiting so long to receive a copy of my agreement and also being told by them that I didn't have PPI when I very clearly did!! I am still to receive confirmation from them and I know it got there because I sent it recorded delivery. How long after do they usually acknowledge complaints? I emailed their customer services last friday and still waiting a reply, so sent a letter today.
Hiya
Wishing you luck on all yours.
I assumed they should have sent an acknowledgement letter within 2 weeks at the latest.
I know they have backlogs, so hopefully you will receive that letter in the post very soon.:);)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi Di,
Well I would like to think so but after them previously giving me the run around I don't hold much hope!
By the way on a slightly different subject, can we use the bank charges calculator to work out how much PPI plus interest we're owed? Or does it not work like that?
Thanks in advance0 -

Well have everything crossed for you anyway.;) They must at least comply and confirm they have received your letter.
Amersall posted a calculator up recently, and I believe its the bank charges one, i have not used it but interest wise it should be ok.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Havent had this myself ian but i've heard it's not a good thing to stop the ppi payment for a loan as the loan would quite possibly need to be re- written and there would be no savings re not having to then pay the ppi, this would not be a good thing, it's a bit different from a monthly premium in that the monthly premium would just stop (i.e credit card) and it would not affect the card repayments all be it making them smaller.0 -
Hope you can advise me! This may sound sillybut I cant remember if I was missold the PPI. I took out my loan in Nov 09 as I had no other choice! The insurance was paid seperately to my loan would I still be eligible for a refund? Also I had a loan before this one so the new load paid off my old could I reclaim the PPI from that one too?0

you say the insurance was paid separately, normally the insurance (ppi) is bundled in with the loan, was this definitley ppi? but yes if you have reasons for being misold if you have ppi you can reclaim and yes you can also claim for the consolidation loan normally when one loan finishes and another one starts you should get a pro-rata rebate, this will be taken off any "won" monies.0 -
