    Hi Boyce01,
I also emailed Halifax CEO and like you got a phone call the following day, I answered and told the guy that I do not want to discuss my financial issue in front of people and could he write. I emailed the CEO again saying that I requested that he did not forward my email and that he should have dealt with it. The guy in the CEO's office although I kept telling him that I am not in a position to discuss anything on the phone, he continued with his phone call saying that they have a backlog going back to October 2010 and that mine is from February, 2011. He also said that he will write what he has already explained but if I am not satisfied, I can go to FOS. I found him so rude.

    Hi virtuous

I did phone them back on Monday after I had a missed call and voicemail from Halifax. The man I spoke wasn't very helpful. I thought they were ringing with good news :( but all he could say is that since the JR they are very near to beginning to process complaints!
They tried ringing me again yesterday after another email to the CEO saying that I am not happy with the previous responses from Halifax. Again I missed the call but the lady left a voicemail asking to ring her back. She sounded quite pleasant on the answer phone message so hopefully she will be a bit more helpful!
I'm going to ring her back in a minute so i'll let you know how I get on :)
    Hang on in there :)

Hi there, if you have the last one running, then ring them and ask to put a complaint in for mis sell, they should find you from your name etc, also if you have internet banking is the account number on the dd that you pay this loan from?.
When you put a complaint in tell them you want them to look at the one you paid off with the one that is still running as well.
When you put your complaint into Santander they will deal with your mis sell.
I put mine in with A&L and every letter from then was from Santander

    Hi.

I've done a SAR request with Santander and all the information has been for my current account and the loan I've got running now, nothing from previous account at all and that ended in 2008.

Should I just reclaim PPI and in the letter state that I don't have the account number however it was settled with this new loan?

Slightly confused what to do next.

    Hi there

I would continue to make a reclaim and give them as many details as you have, and because you know the loan completed in 2008 as well that should help.
However, meanwhile I would also write to the data dept and make them aware that they should still hold at least some of the details of the account loan ended in 2008 because they are supposed to hold them on data for the last 6 years at least, and with that account only completed 3 years ago data on that should also be included.

Have you tried tracking the loan number on your bank statement?
If you paid direct debit from your bank account, and bank online, this should allow you to go back to about 2002 thereabouts, or call into the bank and speak to the branch manager who will be able to check this out for you on request.

Yes you should do that, you know the end date of the previous loan as it was settled with the new loan! just give them as much info on this that you can and ask them to look at this at the same time, if you know what the settlement figure was, then give them this as well.
I won mis sell for a friend with just 2 settlement figures! so give it a go.

    Hi Guys

So far I have two successes with Alliance & Leicester and Santander. Took Egg to ombudsman and awaiting decision and I think it's been more than 6 months now.

I used to have a gold fish loan which I paid of 2 years early. They got sold to Lloyds and after lots of letters I got "some" of my loan details. The information is not the loan agreement which I signed but the date I opened the account, amount requested (£7000) PPI Premium (£1,587.92) Ledger Balance (£8,587.92)

The letter says: "As you are aware your Goldfish loan was taken over by Lloyds TSB. Unfortunately, the paperwork that accompanied the transfer is not in any sort of order, i.e in a 'relevant filing systerm', so we are unable to provide a copy of the original laon agreement"

    My question are:

    1) do I have a good chance that I will get my PPI back since they cannot "find" my original loan agreement? I remember that I applied online but obviously do not recall if I opt in or opt out PPI or even aware I was paying PPI.
    2) It was for 48months I was paying £168 per month between 04/02/04-31/05/06 final payment I believe was £4715.60. How much PPI do I expect to get back?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Regards

As long as you have the account number and reasons for mis sell, you can put a claim in.
You will get the ppi back that was put on your loan less the rebate because you settled early.

    Hi there

    And yes.

With one of mine or 2 actually via Lloyds, they could not provide me with copies of the agreements, these were loans starting from 1999 to 2001, settled loans as well, but I did have my account numbers, and know I was sold and mis sold ppi.
Don't let lack of paperwork hold you back, if you know you were paying ppi and mis sold, you can still continue to reclaim.;)
