Do you think I should? What will happen?
Shall I also tell them about the lady from Barclaycard who told me over the phone that I didn't have PPI? Or is that irrelevant?
Thanks in advance
Basically to what I am aware of the ICO may be in touch on your behalf if you want them to, if you contact the ICO just explain your situation and ask if they can act on your behalf or othewise on your next step. Personally I would tell them everything that may help.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Tell them you know of others being resolved and they were sent in after yours, this should get them moving!
I think like Cappo here, if your cases have been with them for some time, if they were to reject they would have possibly done so by now.
You can always tell them you will possibly contact the FSA as well for more information.
You are always so on the ball Di, a great help to all of us.:D
I will email the CEO again in a minute, I bet i'm getting on their nerves. But I think this is the only way to do it now and hurry them up!
I really hope you and Cappo are rightHave there been many complaints turned down since the JR?

Have you ever known of the ICO to actually help anyone? Has anyone ever given any feedback?0 -

Not a problem.:D;)
Yes keep on at them, I did and it helped with mine, don't take no for an answer.
In my opinion, since the JR, I have came across more success up to now, although slow going but I do really think this JR issue have helped. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

That's a really good point..if the claims are unstable, they could refute them at the outset, so clearly stalling is a ploy to get customers to give up...( or just keep the interest rolling in on the money they delay paying out...? ) Maybe I am just being cynical.
Incidentally, Marks and Spencer are also a nightmare at responding...they have not responded at all to my questionnaire...so am off to the ombudsman!!0 -

Hiya Marshallka, it seems that there have been a few that have been told no PPI, and only to find out later on they have been paying for it.
I do hope the ICO can help in these cases when it comes to data, I assumed they would within the complaints section. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
maryspecial wrote: »Hi, we are still ploughing through the forums and have gotten great confidence from everyone's stories. Would anyone know about recent Santander loans? We took loan out last year with them and stupidly took ppi thinking it would help it get approved. Due to all the ppi coverage when we started looking at this site we cancelled the ppi on the loan thinking it would save us 30 a month-we meant to do it in cooling off period. Thing is we thought doing it now would just mean our loan repayments would go to their original quote excluding ppi but since cancelling it we have read here that it mightn't be as simple as that. We got letter from them yest confirming that we have cancelled and saying they'd get back to us re new repayment. As it's a recent loan I imagine their terms and conditions were tight but just wondered if we have case if we didn't realise impact of cancelling it though loan repayment period? Phew this sounds confusing-hope someone knows what I'm getting at??
Thanks all!
You cannot go back and have it reinstated, but never mind, if you win that may soften the blow.
You could end up saving a few pounds a month with this "new loan" so that may help, you may not, but please post up what they say the new payment is, cheers.0 -
Hi there, you may have a new term and apr now that you cancelled this. there is nothing you can do about it now.

Thanks amersall, we got a letter today saying the new repayment amount is exactly what they quoted excluding ppi at the time we set it up so all looks good. There is no mention of a change in the term. We're happy at this and just mad that we didn't cancel it in cooling off period £300 down the drain! But we're learning thanks to this site!!Mary B0 -

I had 6 cases go in before the j.r and two got rejected outright within 4 weeks of being put in,i think the lenders reject the cases quickly to clear the decks as it were for more viable cases if the cases are weak or uncertain, the strongest i feel are the advised cases and loans which are front loaded, the un -advised sales are a bit different sometimes, but they do still get upheld depending on how strong your reasons are. MY gut feeling is anything not rejected within 5 weeks of being submitted is in with a fighting chance although the on hold cases have been stuck in the loop i still personally feel the lenders reject them quickly generally if they can, only my opinion though0
