Hi, I have been looking at this site for the last couple of weeks. I took my Store Card out a long time ago (1997) and when I looked I have been paying PPI but was unaware there was misselling problems with these, just thought it was loans so was very interested as I was not told anything about the policy and am in fact covered through work i.e. full pay for 6 months if sick followed by 75% until return and am entitled to redundancy etc. I also have private critical illness cover. Anyway would I be able to claim for this seeing as how it is so long ago?

Anyway I thought I would ask for a copy of my agreement and sure enough when it has arrived there is a squiggle near the box for PPI but is not a tick but more like a crossing out or just a mark on the form. It was such a long time ago (1997) that I can't remember whether it was pre-ticked and I have tried to rub it out. Also, it states that it is an application for brides to be which is obviously false since I had not even met my husband then and did not get married until 2002!

Will I have a case since it is so long ago and I have some arrears on this account from last year as my work implemented shorter hours about 14 months ago and I missed 3 months payments but have been negotiating with Santander to clear these on a monthly basis and have not missed any other payments. I am not sure how to attach a picture of the document I received as I cannot find an attach button.

    Thanks for any help/advice offered.:)

    Hi hun

Weekend not too bad thank you, although my oldest did have a little incidence with a knee injury yesterday LOL, he seems ok now though. Hope yours went ok.;)

I think your right Cappo they were and are still devastated, still trying to get over the shock of it all LOL.

That is great news on your reclaims Cappo, will be waiting now for the next time you hear of success, fingers crossed x

    Hi there,

Would have to agree, I think the banks thought it would go their way, and now some are delaying communications by as much as they can.
On the day of the judgement, I wrote to Barclaycard asking for a copy of my agreement...( stupidly, did not send recorded delivery!)..and today, having heard nothing at all, am writing again! How bad is that?

Well done to everyone on this forum who keeps on at their lenders, it is so encouraging to see them succeed.:)

( Sorry to hear about your kiddie's injury, Di...you can't take your eyes of them for a minute can you?) x

    Hi there

There is certainly no harm in trying, many on here have even made successful reclaims from the 90's so I can't see why not, and if you still have the account number go for it.

If any outstanding arrears, its possible they may use the refund towards missed payments, anything remaining plus interest from what I am aware should come back to you.

Follow the steps below to the reclaim questionnaire, step 3, ask for more help if required from here, good luck.

Not much of an update really but since I emailed the CEO of Lloyds last Thursday, I received a phonecall off Halifax today (which I missed because of being at work again!) and I received a letter from Black Horse. Halifax left an answer phone message asking to call them back. I was hoping it was going to be good news but i've just rang them and all they could say is that over the past few weeks they've been waiting for the new rules to be in place for how they process complaints. The man said that they are very near to start processing complaints and he see that mine has been with them quite a long time so they should get round to mine in the next few weeks!! (Lets hope anyway!)
The letter I got from Black Horse was basically saying the same, it states "I can confirm we have both complaints registered and we will deal with your complaints as soon as possible, unfortunately at this present time I am unable to provide any timescales, however, we will let you know once we can resolve your complaint". Very frustrating!!

    Hi there,

You're not the only one that has had trouble with Barclaycard. It took me 4 months and 4 letters to finally get a copy of my agreement. I even phoned them after the fourth letter to be told that I didn't have PPI on my account! A couple of weeks later and I finally got a copy through the post, only to show that I did have PPI on it after all!
I was just about to give up with them too because I trusted the lady on the phone when she assured me I had no PPI. You can't trust any of them.

Keep on at them and good luck! :)
