Hi, we are still ploughing through the forums and have gotten great confidence from everyone's stories. Would anyone know about recent Santander loans? We took loan out last year with them and stupidly took ppi thinking it would help it get approved. Due to all the ppi coverage when we started looking at this site we cancelled the ppi on the loan thinking it would save us 30 a month-we meant to do it in cooling off period. Thing is we thought doing it now would just mean our loan repayments would go to their original quote excluding ppi but since cancelling it we have read here that it mightn't be as simple as that. We got letter from them yest confirming that we have cancelled and saying they'd get back to us re new repayment. As it's a recent loan I imagine their terms and conditions were tight but just wondered if we have case if we didn't realise impact of cancelling it though loan repayment period? Phew this sounds confusing-hope someone knows what I'm getting at??
    Thanks all!

I think the problem is the banks still think they are above the law, they seem to have no respect for the regulator at all but is the new regulator going to be any better?

I sent my claim into the RBS and they received my claim form on the 23.05. I sent it recorded delivery so I know they have received it. To this day I haven't received anything from them in writing. How long do they usually take to even acknowledge my claim? And how long do they have to deal with it?

At last things seem to be moving, talked to the cmc today they've been receiving offers from mbna and hsbc now, they are slowly trickling through and the cmc seems to be receiving written info from each lender which is very similar or even identical generic letters maybe but word has it that things are finally starting to move, then maybe we can all get some of the money back that the banks have been "nicking" off us for so long, bless em LOL.

    Hi there
They should acknowledge your complaint before a fortnight, and they have 8 weeks to make a decision, they should keep you informed of the process of your complaint.

You could chase them up perhaps and ask if they are dealing with it.
    Good luck.

    Hi Cappo

At last!:T about time too I say.
Well fingers crossed Cappo, am keeping an eye on your posts.

In regards of the banks, I think maybe things are taking time to settle down, and possibly still getting over the shock perhaps lol.:D;)

Just had an e-mail from Nottingham BS,
Hi Mr XXXXXXXX – just to confirm I am still in the process of investigating your complaint – but should be in a position to send a reply in the next few days.

I apologise for any delay but I am sure you appreciate I need to ensure it is fully investigated before I reply to you.

    Ive got everything crossed here.
