I received an offer from NatWest a few weeks ago for a "goodwill gesture" on my credit card. They said they could not ascertain what I was told re PPI when the cc was taken out. The offer was for 6 years PPI premiums and card interest and did not include the statutory 8%. As it was posted before they decided not to appeal the JR I wrote to them and asked them to reconsider, to include the 8% and to go back to the start of the card in late 2002, for which I had the statements.

I have received a letter back saying they will not reconsider. My FOS questionnaire included all the info such as self-employed, pre-existing medical conditions, other means of repayment etc etc. There letter says I can refer to FOS but if I have any further information I can give them they will reconsider.

What else can I tell them. Not sure whether it is worth fighting over what will probably only be under £100.

Hiya
Wonder if you contact the FSA and see what they say about this, because if the new rules were that banks/companies had to open old cases/complaints to check for mis selling, then they should and must go by the new rules of the FSA where interest should be included.

Give the FSA a call next week first and let them know you issues here, maybe then if this is the case you could contact the bank and tell them this.
Just a thought but maybe worth it, ring the FSA though and do not email as you will know they may take some time to come back otherwise, fingers crossed. x

Hi Boycey01,
I am having the same waiting game with Halifax. Calling them you get a recorded message telling you that they are dealing with the complaints and that you will hear from them soon. How soon, only God knows. I asked the guy why Halifax cannot employ more people to handle these claims since there are so many people out of work, and he told me that they have already done that.

Hi Virtuous,

I have heard nothing yet since I emailed the CEO thursday. But I will give it a few more days, until the middle of next week. If I haven't heard anything by then I will email him again and again until I get a response. ;)
Last time I emailed him, Halifax tried ringing me the next working day. Just wish I had answered because I would of asked her what was going on. Unfortunately I was at work and couldn't answer my phone. The woman just left an answer phone message saying she's from Halifax Customer Services. But then I received a letter a couple of days later to say they are still dealing with my complaint etc etc.

So when did you put your complaints in?

Good luck. I will keep you posted :)

Thanks Di that is a really helpful suggestion and I will do that next week. Do you have an appropriate contact number for the FSA? If not I am sure I can find it online.
Will let you know what they say.

Been reviewing family finances over the past few weeks and discovering loads of opportunities to get back monies I should not have paid.

Santander coughed up £1497 withing 3 days of my challenge but are dragging their heels over the A&L and GE accounts I challenged but has acknowledged the claim.

RBS is taking its time as well but has acknowledges the claim.

Marbles (now Halifax) has acknowledged our claims but has denied responsibility for my wife's one as they say its HSBC. Strange as both applications for cards were submitted the same day within 30 minutes of each other over the web.

Personally speaking I think they have got her mixed up with someone else as the letter refers to her client!!! I think I will have to call them for clarification.

FOS/PINNALCE UPDATE

I decided to give FOS a call to see how my claim is progressing yesterday. I was told that it is still in the queue for the adjudicater pah!! The woman stated that they are looking at claims going back further than my 21 months :( I told me there was a letter winging its way to me.

So the postie comes this morning and I open the letter only for it to be a repeat of the last one.....Your case is complex and is still be looked at!!!! Hmmmm. I think I will put in another call next week asking them to clarify this. I have waited this long so accept the delay with all the claims but to be given two different reasons is unacceptable.

Just thought I would update just in case anyone else has been waiting for the adjudicator, if I get a better explaination that is relevant I will post up.

Take care all and good luck.

Hi there and thanks for that, that is actually the email I use and have no problem with, but last week, when sending them an email I received an automated email response from the postmaster which said the email box was full and try again later.
customer.care.insurance@lloydstsb.co.uk

Keep trying, you will get there.;)

Have been trying to email all the addresses now over several weeks and ALL emails have been returned as undelivered via Lloyds Postmaster for varying reasons including being rejected by their spam guard.

As Andrea Barry gave me specific email addresses to reply to for her personal attention do you not think this is completely unacceptable behaviour on their part? Should I make a complaint to the FSA about BOS's mishandling of my complaint?:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
