Hiya
Oh I am so sorry to hear this!!
So they were not a lot of help then??:mad: didn't they suggest anything at all?
Blimey your not having a very good time of it are you!But I wont let them get me down. I'll get there in the end thanks to all the support from this site.
Their only suggestion was take it the FOS.0 -
Been reviewing family finances over the past few weeks and discovering loads of opportunities to get back monies I should not have paid.
Santander coughed up £1497 withing 3 days of my challenge but are dragging their heels over the A&L and GE accounts I challenged but has acknowledged the claim.
RBS is taking its time as well but has acknowledges the claim.
Marbles (now Halifax) has acknowledged our claims but has denied responsibility for my wife's one as they say its HSBC. Strange as both applications for cards were submitted the same day within 30 minutes of each other over the web.
Personally speaking I think they have got her mixed up with someone else as the letter refers to her client!!! I think I will have to call them for clarification.
Well I now have clarification.
The reference to a client is a typo for which they apologise. The passing onto HSBC is valid although only in terms of final liability as Halifax are still administering the complaint on behalf of HSBC.
It seems like Halifax staff wear different hats depending on the liability and who is claimed against in terms of PPI.
Why can they not just speak plainly and man up!0 -

Keep at em kl,i,m sure all this is done to try to break peoples spirits and get them to give up,the banks haven't come across the like of any of us on this forum yet, forums like this empower the people,we will not give up,we will keep going until the end, until we've got back what the banks have stolen from us and we will get there, the longer this all takes guys the better, the more interest the banks will have to pay, keep strong and keep going the banks would like you to give up and drop your claims.Don't give them the satisfaction.0 -

morning guys had a letter through from santander this morning regards my burtons menwear card it reads as follows
thank you for your recent letter i understand your complaint is regarding account cover insurance, having checked your account details i can confirm account cover insurance consisting of price, payment and purchase protection was added on the 12th september 1996,when we received your signed credit agreement and opened youir account, due to the ammount of time elapsed i unable to retrieve a copy of this document.
once a customer has decided to take a product a policy summary and policy document is mailed to the customer for their review,we also offer a 30 day no quibble quarantee where the product may be cancelled and any premiums refunded (subject to no claim being made) this allows time to compare the policy to that of any other insurance companies.
in relation to your reference to the sales process in store, there was no requirement unpon us to record the sales process and so we have no way of knowing what took place on the 12th of september 1996 however if any of the matters that you suggest took place, you would of been able to call at any time in the first 30 days and we would of removed the insurance from your account,
i note that you say that you were a full time student at the time of the the policy was sold however this is a bread winner policy and there fore the benefits of the cover would automatically transfer over to your partner providing they were working,if neither your nor your partner were working 16 hours or more per week we will need to see the following proofs
national insurance premiums paid for that year in which you took the insurance out
proof that you and your partner were claiming benefits/job seekers allowance on the date the insurance was taken out
i will leave the case open for a period of four weeks to allow time for you to send these documents otherwise the case will be closed
tania steward
so where do i go from here guys please i was a full time student aged 18 and i had no partner
what evidence could i gather to show them this? i have my college certificates and possibly a student card but im a bit stumped about this now lol
any help would be great thanks0 -

This seems to be the new trend of we are missing the documents so im affraid case closed!:( which is a tad worrying:(
well i would first try to call them back to discuss the points raised! to say its a bread winning policy is at best a joke:mad: I would gather all the information needed and send it all back and maybe even request a SAR which would cost £10 and may result in a little more info on the account etc. But im sure overs will be along soon and have better advice to hand:D:D:p Perfer et obdurai dolor hic tibi proderit olim

These banks are incredible arn't they i've the same problem, i was diagnosed with a hole in my heart 36 years ago this eventually caused a stroke in 2009,have put medical reasons for hsbc reclaims, whats the betting they ask for proof of that.It should be no longer relevant should it. I mean anything going back over 5 years really It's a miracle remembering it Let alone having evidence,i still feel that the fsa are letting the banks run rings around them. It should be the banks have to chase this information not the claimants0
