Then this is what you need to put in your answer back, you should also enclose a copy of paperwork for the grant that you got just as proof that you recieved this and what you were living on.

Would you have been eligible for JSA or some form of help as you were a student? if not, then put the reason why in your letter.

Good luck with this and please keep us posted.

hi again no as a student i wouldnt of been able to claim jsa at the time of taking the store card out, i dont think i have any paper work that covers the grants that i received back in 96 :S the only things i do have are things like certificates when i passed the courses and possibly a nus card in my memory box (not sure though) do you think its worth giving them a call and explaining all this to them or would i be wasting my time and be better off writing to them as another poster has said they contacted national insurance and they said that it would take longer than 4 weeks to get that information together they dont make these things easy do they

    They certainly dont!!.
Give them a ring and explain, tell them what you have and see what they say.

    Sorry me again!

I suddenly thought about the 6 month rule for going to the FOS... Is that 6 months from when I first complained? Or is it 6 months from their last corrspondence (17/1/11) which said it was on hold in the case of Bank of Scotland? Haven't got a clue with Natwest as they wrote and asked for additional information in December but are now saying they haven't received it (it being my original complaint and the additional info)? What should I do?

    Hiya

In regards to the FOS, you go by the final decision letter - date from the bank/business and have 6 months from there.

    Hi

I hope this is the correct forum and that I am doing this right. A week ago today I sent off a ppi claim form from this site to Halifax. Today my husband and i have received a letter saying that they are dealing with out complaint about being unhappy about the way we were sold the ppi. (the loan was actually paid off last november). We have actually requested that they repay the whole amount. They have said that they have 8 weeks to resolve our complaint but will probably resolve it well before the deadline of 8 weeks. Could i just ask - Is this good news or are they thinking about telling us to get lost?

    many thanks.

    Hi and welcome

Yes that is correct, it seems they have so far followed the right procedures in confirming they received your letter, and now as from receiving your letter the timescale is that of 8 weeks.
However, they may even deal with it before that with a bit of luck, good luck.

If they require more time they should also let you know.

    Hope this helps, fingers crossed.;)

    Hi there,

I am no expert, but agree with Di, they are acting in accordance with the process, ( unlike others).

I received exactly that response from RBS, who did in fact resolve my case, in my favour. I'm not trying to raise your hopes, just don't assume it may be bad news.

On the other side of the fence...some very unwilling participants in this PPI resolution are just not responding...at all!!!..

And some give a NO straight away...so don't be disheartened, all is not lost...

Good luck, and wishing you every success!! x :)
