    Hi,

I received (poor) financial advice from an advisor of Company A, who sold me PPI to cover my new mortgage with Company B by taking out a policy with Company C.

    Who is my compaint against?

The documentation I have from financial advisor contains the phrase, "as this is a new loan, you require a suitable vehicle in order that the mortgage is repaid upon your death or if you were to suffer critical illness..."

I am presuming that this is poor selling technique - but is my complaint against his company (A), or against the Company C who eventually provided the (non-covering in my circumstances) cover?

LLoydsTSB sent me a letter - pretty standard - to say that they were dealing with my PPI complaint. Two weeks later (today) I rang them to inquire as to the process and time-frames and their CS rep would only tell me that it will be several months before anything might happen. I am worried by the words - anything - and - might. Is this normal in other peoples experience. Will I get interest on the money they should pay me back based upon their time-frames to deliver. I am talking almost £10k here for the PPI including interest on the original PPI figure.

Sorry if asked before but I am a newbee...
Hi there, what gets you to the figure of £10,000, and is the loan/cc settled, repaid early or still running?.

I am new to this forum and have never posted anything on one before so hope I have done it right!!

I am looking into my sons car loan with Black Horse and the documents do not class the 'Insurance' as PPI, but as 'other Insurances.' Does anyone know what this means? There is a PPI category on the agreement form but it is showing as 0.00. I can't think what it can be for. I have already sent a claim for 2 loans to HSBC as he is and always has been Self Employed, so we are keeping our fingers crossed there. It's just the Black Horse Loan I need to know about. He can't ring up in office hours cos he is at work all day and obviously I am not him so can't do it!!

    Thanks and here's hoping

Not sure about this but it could be gap insurance that pays the whole of the purchase price of the vehicle if wrote off and not just what it is worth at the time of the incident.

I am not 100% if this can be claimed for. Hopefully someone who knows more about this will post for you.

hi all :) right ive had a rather snotty letter from hsbc this morning after sending them my claims form and requesting a refund, it states that she has check her records and she cannot find any evidence that i had ppi insurance on my credit card and could i send her any statements showing this ppi insurance also said she cant take my complaint any further and my case is closed!! right so is this the standard (we are gonna try and put you off) tactic ?as im sure i phoned them about 2 years ago to tell them i didnt want ppi insurance on my credit card and to cancel it,whats my next step please do i send a postal order for a pound and ask for a copy of my original agreement or do i send a ten pound cheque asking for last 6 years of statements? thanks in advance i suppose 1 saying we dont have any proof out of 6 claims forms isnt bad is it lol

The original agreement (this will be a copy) may not have ppi ticked, but this does not mean it was not added at a later date, do you have any statements at all that show ppi?.

They cannot say "send us statements to show ppi" and then say in the same letter case closed (unless you have told them you do not have any statements).

If they have said you can take this to FOS, then that is what you should do, as if it is their final say, then you will be wasting your time going any further with them.
A sar maybe in order here if you think they are wrong.

Hi there, with this being mortgage ppi, you need to post this here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15
as people on there have knowledge of mortgage products.

But please be ready for the answers you may get, as what you have posted here does not sound like a mis sell claim to me as a poor selling technique, i could be wrong but just warning you ;)

Thanks for this, so this is just another money making venture for the banks now. They are obviously banking on someone never making a claim!! I'll check with my son if this rings a bell. In fact, I am trying to persuade him to take out a proper bank loan and pay it off now, minus a PPI of course :D

I see from my Experian credit report that I have 3 cards/store cards listed that I cannot even remember - 2 are with MBNA Europe and were settled in 2010 (taken out in 1988 and 1989) and one for Creation Financial Services settled 2005. I see from the SARs information that they can go back 6 years.
Have I anything to lose by sending these companies SARs requests?

See if any one else posts regarding this gap insurance, you never know if you can claim mis sell for this.

Yes you can send for SARS, if you have reasons for mis sell, you may not have had ppi on these though, but you wont know until you get the info.
