Here's my dilema. I took out a loan with Barclays a few years back and have just under £2K left on it. I took out PPI. I signed a contract thingie with them which on it states that they won't cover pre-existing medical conditions. When reading through it a couple of months back, I remember thinking, this is the first time I've seen this.
The problem is that I do have a pre-existing medical condition which could coause enough probs for me to be off work and ned the insurance to kick in but I knwo I wouldn't be covered, having read this document.
I probably don't have a leg to stand on as I have a signed document to say I understand that pre-existing conditions aren't covered, but this was never explained to me and when I signed the document, it was all very rushed I seem to remember and I certainly was never asked verbally about any pre-existing conditions.
Do you think I would still have a case?

Hi there, if you have other reasons for mis sell with the one you gave here, look here for reasons for mis sell. If any/all apply to you then put a claim in.

Hi :hello:
Sorry - not sure how i post this in the appropriate place or where i get to see replies but here goes.....
I signed up with a solicitors to make several reclaims for PPI against banks and credit cards. They have been sucessful in getting repayments from Santander but i'm paying 30% to them.
I have outstanding claims against Lloyds Credit card and Lloyds bank.
Now that the court has ruled in favour of us and Lloyds have set aside money to pay PPI claims am i obliged to stay with the company or could i take the remaining claims over myself?
Any thoughts or experience in this anyone?

Hi there

Well done on your success.

I am not absolutely certain, but if the case is already in the hands of the solicitors and you've signed up with them, it may not be the case, but check any signed copies of paperwork see what it says.
Meanwhile someone else may know the answer on this one straight away.

All the best.

• Thanks to Dizzy Di for pointing me in right direction, where do I find the address and contact details for a past bank account ie Natwest?

Do I continue to pay the monthly direct debit or go ahead and cancel the policy?

Most wait until the matter is resolved in regards of the cancellation, because if done beforehand it will not reduce by much, however your rights are your able to cancel at anytime, good luck.

LLoydsTSB sent me a letter - pretty standard - to say that they were dealing with my PPI complaint. Two weeks later (today) I rang them to inquire as to the process and time-frames and their CS rep would only tell me that it will be several months before anything might happen. I am worried by the words - anything - and - might. Is this normal in other peoples experience. Will I get interest on the money they should pay me back based upon their time-frames to deliver. I am talking almost £10k here for the PPI including interest on the original PPI figure.

Sorry if asked before but I am a newbee...

Hi there

Normally its 8 weeks, so if any delay in that time they should write to keep you informed.

Mine was with them since before xmas and I received the decision a few days ago.

For the future you can also email them here as well.
customer.care.insurance@lloydstsb.co.uk

However, some have made complaints to them over the last few weeks and have had decisions, so it does not mean you will be waiting as long as they said, and this time last week I was told they could not give me a timescale, and this week the good news arrived, so not to worry. x
Hope your not waiting too long though, good luck.

I contact my Credit Card provider, but they said they were not recording calls at that time (2006). I asked for a copy of the notes and I was told that I could not have them.

How do I go about asking for a copy of the notes of the PPI call?

My PPI only covers critical illness and redundancy, but I am pretty sure that on the phone call it was stated that it covered unemployment. The policy also states unemployment until you read the T&C's which states this only covers redundancy. I was only 25 when I accepted this policy and it is useless to me.

Can I still claim?

hi all :) right ive had a rather snotty letter from hsbc this morning after sending them my claims form and requesting a refund, it states that she has check her records and she cannot find any evidence that i had ppi insurance on my credit card and could i send her any statements showing this ppi insurance also said she cant take my complaint any further and my case is closed!! right so is this the standard (we are gonna try and put you off) tactic ?as im sure i phoned them about 2 years ago to tell them i didnt want ppi insurance on my credit card and to cancel it,whats my next step please do i send a postal order for a pound and ask for a copy of my original agreement or do i send a ten pound cheque asking for last 6 years of statements? thanks in advance i suppose 1 saying we dont have any proof out of 6 claims forms isnt bad is it lol
• I am new to this forum and have never posted anything on one before so hope I have done it right!!

I am looking into my sons car loan with Black Horse and the documents do not class the 'Insurance' as PPI, but as 'other Insurances.' Does anyone know what this means? There is a PPI category on the agreement form but it is showing as 0.00. I can't think what it can be for. I have already sent a claim for 2 loans to HSBC as he is and always has been Self Employed, so we are keeping our fingers crossed there. It's just the Black Horse Loan I need to know about. He can't ring up in office hours cos he is at work all day and obviously I am not him so can't do it!!

Thanks and here's hoping
