Are we able as executors of his estate to reclaim on behalf of his estate?
Hello there

what's the difference between payment protection insurance ( PPI )
and loan protection insurance ( LPI )
as i have a loan still going with Lloyds TSB, and on the loan information on my internet banking page, it says LPI ? please help thanks in advance.0 -
Hi
I took out a loan in 2005 and at the time I was told that if I lost my job that I would have help with the loan till I was back on my feet. I thought would be great because I have no other financial support. In 2006 I left my job to go to a new company which didnt work out. I found myself unemployed. I went into my bank HSBC and ask about my payment protection only to be told that it did not cover job loss!!!!
I eventually found something 2 months later but struggled to get control of my money including my loan. HSBC pressured me into a Managed Loan which would pay off my current loan and my overdraft... But really I was in this position because of them. If I had had cover on my loan whilst I was unemployed I would never have gotten so in the hole. I am furious that I had to take a new loan with interest to pay because I was mislead. Another thing is that the managed loan they offered me was partly to cover their charges, which I successfully recovered two years ago.
Does anyone think I have a case to pursue them for more that my PPI insurance?
thank you!
Hi there
As well as the mis selling part, you could just also complain on the way this was sold to you, tell them your not happy with the way you've been treated.
I would certainly give it a go.

Hi Yola
Its the same really, Loan payment insurance/payment protection insurance.
So if mis sold, have a go on the reclaiming, they have direct details on their website or you can do this by following the procedures on here, they're the same.;)

Hi all,
I got a credit card with Barclaycard in 2001 and paid it off a couple of years ago. Well today I finally received a copy of my credit card agreement with Barclaycard. Thats four months and four letters later. I originally requested it in January this year but they kept stalling me. I did phone their customer services over two weeks ago to be told it had been sent out earlier that day. Anyway when I spoke to the lady from customer services I asked her to check if I had PPI on my account. I was pretty sure I did. The lady seemed very nice and basically told me that I definitely didn't have PPI on my account! What a big fat lie that was! I can't believe they can tell people that they haven't got PPI when they clearly have!
My credit agreement shows that i've ticked the box for PPI. But I was young and naive at the time and can only think I ticked it because I thought it would help my application. I wasn't asked any questions about my health, employment etc and never received any information about PPI. It was just one of them application forms you used to get in the post, that you fill in and send back.
Question is, do you think I have a case? Or shall I just not bother as I have ticked the box?
Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance0 -

Hi there
And good on you for keeping on at them:T
I would give it a go with your reasons, and back then its possibly they added it anyway or assumed it all being part of the parcel like many of us assumed.
Complete the reclaim questionnaire on step 3 below, send to their head office or complaints dept, keep copies and allow 8 weeks for a decision, good luck.

'spring cleaning' my direct debits this week I found one I didn't know what it was and contacted the company, Genworth Financial. It's a personal accident plan from an old Natwest account I no longer have. I have no paperwork or old bank information so don't know why I'm still paying it. I found a model subject access request (SAR) letter on this website to ask for all old information (thanks!) do I send it to the finance company AND Natwest with £10 fee to each?
I called Genworth to cancel the policy but should I continue to pay the Direct debit while I pursue a reclaim? Advice very welcome please!0 -

Thanks Di,
Knew I could rely on you. I'm just about to fill in the questionnaire, shall I actually admit to ticking the box and give my reasons? Or shall I just give my reasons? Don't want it going against me by admitting I ticked the box, as they may say that I did and i've admitted it, now go away!!
Thanks0 -

Hi there
In my opinion in regards of your data, then possibly Natwest you would request for this, when it comes to the reclaiming its the other you would have to pursue.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
