    Thank you Di. well done!
  • Sorry haven't posted for a while, submitted my complaint to MBNA which they started to look into then got the inevitable 'on hold' letter. I have today received a letter from them asking me to accept the letter as confirmation that the complaint I made has been upheld in my favour. Was all ready to write to them to ask them to get a move on! I assume this means they accept they mis-sold PPI to me. They go onto say that they will use FSA and FOS guidance to calculate exactly what my refund is and that it will be completed within 8 weeks. How would I work out how much I should expect so that I know they are not under-paying me?? Also, although I still have a balance on the card, can they just pay off what I owe them or should I get the refund direct to then decide what to do with it?

    Thanks in advance

    Well done!

If they've upheld then they have agreed to it being mis sold.

If there are no missed payments/arrears, tell them you prefer to receive the refund yourself as you feel you have already been deprived of your money.
    Its worth a shot.

    Good luck.

    Hiya honey
Glad you got that sorted in the end then :T:D.

I've actually had 2 loan ppi successes today via Lloyds TSB, they have upheld them in my favour.

Ah, as you may recall I have an outstanding claim with lloyds (i didn't go for the BBC TV interview in the end!!), rang the complaints line and got the 'we are sending out letters in the post regarding our recently decision to not argue' etc but haven't received anything.

Did you get a generic letter? Or did you have to chase them up?

    Cheers :)

I have access to Credit Expert which will tell me which loans and Credit Cards I have had over the years but they don't really give that much detail. Can you request a report that will provide more information like size of the loan, lender, monthly payments, etc, as that might give a better idea if PPI was on some of them. I think.

    Any ideas?

Thanks Di. Any idea how to work out how much i can expect back?
  • Hi There,

Just wondering if anyone can help with PPI.

I took out a credit card whilst in uni with lloyds tsb in 2007.

I wracked up about £1000 on it and it was sent to a debt collectors agency (BLS collections) as I couldnt pay it back at the time. Im now paying this back and have been for a while paying £25 a month, just been increased to £35 per month. Currently got about £550 of the debt left.

My account with lloyds tsb no longer exists as obviously it was closed when it went to the debtors agency.

I dont know my account number/sort code or anything?

Is there anything I can do and would I be entitled to claim anything at all?

    Thanks
  • Hi
Im very new to this - hope you can help. I have insurance (i found - ACE Family Accident Plan). The thing is I dont know when this was taken out for what card or purpose. I've been paying £6.31 by DD for who knows how long. Would this be PPI? How do I check about this and does it fall under the PPI matter Martin has been discussing?

    Kind regards

    Vicky

  • I took out a Debenhams store card in (approximately) 1998. I didn't know until about 3 years ago, but I have been paying PPI premiums the whole time.

So I'd like to start the reclaim process now, however who do I send the initial letter to? Debenhams? GE Capital (who provided the finance for Debs store cards initialy) or Santander (who now provide the finance for Debs store cards)?

    Thanks!
