PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

My brother passed away quite suddenly last year, and he had several PPI policies.
Are we able as executors of his estate to reclaim on behalf of his estate?0 -
Hi
I took out a loan in 2005 and at the time I was told that if I lost my job that I would have help with the loan till I was back on my feet. I thought would be great because I have no other financial support. In 2006 I left my job to go to a new company which didnt work out. I found myself unemployed. I went into my bank HSBC and ask about my payment protection only to be told that it did not cover job loss!!!!
I eventually found something 2 months later but struggled to get control of my money including my loan. HSBC pressured me into a Managed Loan which would pay off my current loan and my overdraft... But really I was in this position because of them. If I had had cover on my loan whilst I was unemployed I would never have gotten so in the hole. I am furious that I had to take a new loan with interest to pay because I was mislead. Another thing is that the managed loan they offered me was partly to cover their charges, which I successfully recovered two years ago.
Does anyone think I have a case to pursue them for more that my PPI insurance?
thank you!0 -
I have access to Credit Expert which will tell me which loans and Credit Cards I have had over the years but they don't really give that much detail. Can you request a report that will provide more information like size of the loan, lender, monthly payments, etc, as that might give a better idea if PPI was on some of them. I think.
Any ideas?
Hi there
If your not getting much details, and if any of your accounts were with your bank, call into your local branch, and ask them to go through all the accounts you have taken out with them, best to see the branch manager though.
Despite that ring the companies you recall having loans/credit cards with and ask if they still hold details of any of your accounts, they may tell you over the phone, or they may suggest you request a Subject Access Request (SAR), one SAR is sufficient for one company if all accounts were held with them, if separate companies then it would have to be separate SAR requests.
SAR template letter below link, you enclose £10 cheque or postal order, and they have 40 calendar days to comply.

Another option, if the accounts are still active, although they may still hold the details, if you just want to request for a copy of the agreement, write a simple letter, ask them to provide you with a copy of your agreement by 12 days and enclose £1 cheque or postal order payment.
However, if you know for definate you were sold ppi and mis sold the product and have the account number, you can still continue to make a reclaim.;)
Hope this helps, good luck.

So I'd like to start the reclaim process now, however who do I send the initial letter to? Debenhams? GE Capital (who provided the finance for Debs store cards initialy) or Santander (who now provide the finance for Debs store cards)?
Thanks!
Hello there
I would say send to the companies who they have been moved on to, although even if you did send to the previous ones, its likely they will forward them on anyway. I would post by recorded delivery to be sure it reaches them
For more on reclaiming.

Hi. Wonder if someone could help with a PPI Claim im thinking about. In 2005 we took out a mortgage with Abbey, at the same time we signed the paperwork (also with Abbey) to take out mortgage insuarance. The problem is I was never asked about existing medical conditions which I do have.
Now, becuase of this were thiniking of reclaiming the PPI insurance on the grounds that neither of us were asked about existing medical conditions. Luckly my wife is as fit as a fiddle, but myself, I do have an underlying medical condition for which the insurance would not have covered in the event of me losing my job etc etc.
However, were also both worried that Santander (Abbey) may view the fact that no mention of the exisitng medical condition was mentioned at the time of we took out the mortgage and that they may review this if we try to claim back the insurance.
Can they do this, revoke the mortgage or anything similar due to the fact that we hadn't mention about pre-existing medical conditions. Or are we safe to proceed with our claim. Any help would be appreciated, and if anyone knows of a not for profit claims service we could go to for advie we'd also be grateful
Thanking you in advance.........0 -

Just wondering if anyone can help with PPI.
I took out a credit card whilst in uni with lloyds tsb in 2007.
I wracked up about £1000 on it and it was sent to a debt collectors agency (BLS collections) as I couldnt pay it back at the time. Im now paying this back and have been for a while paying £25 a month, just been increased to £35 per month. Currently got about £550 of the debt left.
My account with lloyds tsb no longer exists as obviously it was closed when it went to the debtors agency.
I dont know my account number/sort code or anything?
Is there anything I can do and would I be entitled to claim anything at all?
Thanks
Hi there
I would call into your local branch, they should still hold details of your account for at least the last 6 years, even now if your account is now closed.
Have a word with the branch manager, and ask them to check all the accounts you have taken out with them.
They should still provide them to you, any problems let us know.
You can still make a reclaim on the PPI.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
