PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

First time using this site for asking for help. My question is I filled all the questionaires in 3 in total. One for Barclays for a loan of £5,000 payed off 2008 (was not properly informed about PPI). Halifax Credit card £10.00 a month PPI, had the card for 3 years and got told that if my marriage broke up then they would pay out, I am not even married, but felt pressured into taking it. I also tried Paragon Finance. Had a loan in 1996 for £10,000, PPI at £48.54 a month. Half way through the loan payments I fell pregnant and fell behind with the payments. This went to court and I agreed to pay it off at £70.00 a month. A year after that I got made redundant and lost my job. We decided in 2004 to sell the house and pay Paragon off as it was hanging over our heads. The question I had was why was I not informed that while I was still paying the loan off why I could not have applied for the PPI to kick in while I was redundant. Is this because it went to court. Nobody told me I could. I feel we payed the PPI for nothing. I contacted Paragon Finance through filling out a form and writing all this in. I still have the original documents as it was through Universal Credit before Paragon took them over. Any way got my reply through from Paragon within a week stating basically I have no chance because the complaint occurred before the jurisdiction was extended in April 2007 to loans regulated by the consumer credit act. Do I let this drop.
If they come back with a "no" then you can take this to FOS.
This may take a while but you may have success in the end.0 -

simple question really, does reclaiming stop at just ppi's or late/missed payments on cc's ?? its just that i'm looking through my girlfriends mounds of paperwork and have noticed something called privacyguard which she has been paying 6.99 for 2 years, she says the bank persuaded her it would be a good thing to purchase and i'm wondering if i can reclaim the money back
have found this

Doesnt seem to be ppi, but not sure if you could claim this back.0 -
I have recieved a phone call from a company stating they have my information regarding a policy I had with my old mortgage provider for PPI which was a one off payment added onto my mortgage and I can reclaim it back with interest and compensation. They already had all my personal details and asked if I wish them to proceed with a claim and they will send me paperwork for to to sign to authorise this.
I recieved the paperwork today and it states that there "No Win No fee" policy will cost me 25% of my winning claim. I have just phoned them and asked which policy it is they have details of for reclaiming so I may look to see if I have any paperwork regarding the policy. They gave me all the details, which is very handy as I can now try and claim myself at the cost of a stamp, but when I asked how they got all my information they said it was on their database from a subsidary company of theirs and they were claiming on behalf of all their customers. As it turns it they are a subsidary of the financial advisory company that sold us the policy alongside our mortgage stating that the protection was all included in the mortgage at no extra monthly cost...........It turns out that it was a one off payment of £3,500 for 5 years cover which was added onto our mortgage which also incrued interest. Which we had no idea about.
Can we claim for this full amount plus interest that we paid over the 2 years which we had our mortgage before changing mortgage providfers thus taking the debt with us but no longer having the policy????
Longwinded post I know.....but I need some advice please0 -

Having missed the boat for the bank charges claim, ive have decided to get my hands on whats owed to me!!
Today I phoned my bank HSBC, asked for copies of all my credit agreements for credit cards and loans for the last 6yrs.
As I know every loan i have ever had has had PPI as I was told it was the only way which they would give me credit.
To my supprise the helpful lady simply said" yes sir you will have copies within 12-14 days"
Now this seems to good to be true!! I shall report back to let you know what occurs.
I also have written to Black horse, GE Capital, EGG requesting all my data including a £10 fee for each.
thanks for a great site:T0 -

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you Di!
I emailed the CEO of Lloyds Friday night. Have not received an email back but yesterday i had 2 missed calls from Halifax Customer Services and an answerphone message asking to ring them back. Unfortunately I have been on 14 hour shifts today and yesterday so never got the chance to ring them. Also the reason for me missing their calls!!
Unfortunately I am working again tomorrow but I should finish earlier so will hopefully be able to give them a ring. Or do you think they will send me a letter if they've been unable to contact me by phone? I hope its good news but don't wanna get my hopes up!0 -
