  • Done it again well heres my story i made a complaint using the template letter on here, about being sold ppi on two of my accounts that date back 2004,1 being a halifax credit card with a outstanding balance of £6500.00 and 1 for a consolidation loan with halifax again which i taken out to cover my other 1 and the balance owing on this is £1050.00 they both had ppi which i just assume you had to have these on them, so sent the letter with all paper to support them and recieved a letter back saying this. Thank you for contacting us about your complaint. I am sorry this situation has occurred and i appreciate you taking the time to bring this to our attention.my understanding of your complaint is that you are concerned about the way you were sold your payment protection insurance (ppi)on your halifax credit card and your personal loan.if i misunderstood this please let us know by calling us.please find enclose a copy of our complaints leaflet which gives details of our commitment to resolve your complaint as quickly and simply as possible.your complaint will be dealt with as quickly as possible, but if you need to speak to us in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us. Has anybody else had one ofthese letters if so what do i need to do now. Thanks
  • Hi - Yes i had the same letter a few months ago, after that one i got a letter to state that the claim was on hold as was thousands. I passed the letter on to the FSO and they are dealing with it. The letter is standard procedure that you recieved. I am trying to claim back Repayment Cover on my Halifax Credit Card also. I was successful in reclaiming my Halifax Loan PPI last year but that was before the banks upheld them. If you feel you wish to pass your complaint on to the FSO, do so, if not i would just sit tight - Liz x

Good morning all.... Sorry if this question has been asked before but I really need some advice....

I have a PPI complaint with Bank of Scotland regarding a credit card. I initially lodged my complaint in Nov 2010 and their last correspondence to was in Jan 2011 saying all on hold pending JR. I have phoned them 50 times and managed to get through just twice (the other times the phone was answered and they hung up without speaking )... As you can imagine I was  and had seen on here and email address for the CEO Mr Horta-Osorio so I emailed him and vented my spleen about their substandard "customer relations". Today I have received a reply from Andrea Barry Customer Relations Manager asking me to email things like my full credit card number and full postal address etc. I had already included in the email their ref number which they use on their correspondence. My question is: has my email been hijacked? Surely on responsible bank would ask for this info in an unsecured email? Or am I just waffling and being paranoid?:(

We had a reply from Norton today to say they are investigating our complaint, they also sent out another questionnaire for us to complete, as well as a document to sign fro Nemo to disclose information of our account.

Hello there, and you got here.:T;)

    That is standard procedure.
They have 8 weeks and should keep you updated on the progress of your complaint, if they require more time they will write to let you know, and if the 8 weeks have gone by and they still not dealt with your complaint, you should have the opportunity to take your complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), however it may be worth hanging it out because the FOS have huge backlogs which have built up over the past few months due to the hold up of the Judicial Review which is all over now.

Its your decision of course, but see what happens now over the following weeks, good luck.

    Hi there

I have been asked this in the past as well by Lloyds who are the same as the company your dealing with.
If your unsure about giving details by email, you may be best then to give them a ring or maybe send a letter by hard copy post.
Did they leave their tel number for you to ring them?

    Hiya

This sounds about right, with the broker being different to the lender, they require you to sign to actually say you agree to Norton for Nemo to send and enclose information on your account in order for them to deal with your complaint.;)
    Good luck.

Cheers Di, just looking through that policy again we must have been blind, total amount was £8614.98 for 5 years of cover, the actual loan was over 10? it was also secured against our home (so they were covered anyway) hindsight eh.

    Hiya
    Easily missed at the time.
Its a lot of money, it all adds up over time as well, interest too etc.

Ours with Nemo, we ended receiving almost £13K back when it was resolved (the loan advance loan), and that was PPI for just over £10K, so surprising what yours will add to as well, £10K with interest I suspect.;)

  • Hi All,

I posted a couple of weeks ago about a firm of Solicitors called Hindle Campbell Solicitors advertising on the radio helping people with PPI.

They say you may be entitled to 100% of the PPI claim. I got loads of messages of you guys telling me to do it myself, but i havent the time and have already tried.
I have done some research and it appears they have been around for ages, over 20 years from what i gather. I also rang them and spoke at length with one of the solicitors.

If they claim their costs off the lender you keep 100% of the reward, you pay nothing upfront.

I have given them my GE Money PPI claim.

I borrowed £15,000 from GE Money but the secured loan was arranged through Norton Finance. When the loan documents came out in the post they had stuck over £3,000 PPI. When i rang Norton to ask for the PPI to be removed (before singing the documents) they said if i didnt take the PPI i couldnt have the loan. I was desperate for the money and so took the loan. I have complained to GE Money and they told me to go away. I have since found out the loan was over 15 years the PPI only covered me for 5 years!

I have instructed Hindle Campbell Solicitors and they have issued a letter of claim on both GE Money and Norton Finance, Norton Finance have written to Hindle Campbell asking for me to give permission for them to speak to GE Money.

I will let you know the outcome
