Hope it goes well for your brother with his claim :)

I am wondering now how far can you go back with the PPi claims

Just been up in the attic with the cobwebs and the spiders wasnt a very pretty sight i can tell you, think its time i should have a clear out. :D

I found two original loan contracts from LLoyds one dated 1994 and the other dated 1996 what do you think should i claim on these or is it to far back.

Looking at the agreement there are four tick boxes within a box at the bottom of the agreement page the boxes have yes and no by the optional loan repayment protection section both yes boxes have been pre filled in with an X. Looks like the banks have been doing it for a very long time.

So should i go for it or what :D

    Thank you.;)

Yes do go for it, you can also enclose "copies" of your paperwork when making a complaint/reclaim, at least they cannot say they have nothing to go by.

Give it a shot, I understand others have still been successful.
If you don't try you will never know.:D

    Good luck.;)

    Hi there
Depending how long ago this was, they may still hold the details of how and when this was sold, and possibly recordings and/or written transcrips of the telephone calls which can be useful;)

    Hello Di :-)

Was in February 2006 so over five years ago.

Do banks record all telephone calls or just a random sample?

    Hiya

You may be ok then, normally its at least the last 6 years, but some even longer.
I believe telephone sales were recorded as from Jan 2005, so you could ask them if they have a copy, or another way would be to request a SAR where they have 40 calendar days to comply, but you enclose £10 cheque or postal order.
SAR letter template below if you want to request for this, or call into the branch as ask for details first.

Thats great. I will wait and see what happens meantime but the SAR could be a good way of getting hold of info on two HBOS cards I had previously that they could not see on record. They date back to last decade but I didn't make an issue of it. If I get success with the current complaints I may pursue older agreements I had.

I guess that because I am part of the avalanche of new complaints post High Court judgement that I will have a few weeks to wait from both HBOS and HFC.

With my second HBOS loan I am absolutely staggered that the additional PPI and interest amounted to an extra £100 a month on my repayments. That is an absolute scandal and a good enough reason to complain over and above the misselling, in my opinion anyway.

Really glad to see folks on here get success with their claims. In this financial climate the money will come in more than handy.
