Hi there this is my story so far:-
When we took out our mortgage with Halifax in 2003 my husband worked overseas, he was paid out of another country, and no tax or ni deductions were paid. We were told we would struggle to get mortgage without ppi (which we later find out wouldn,t have paid out in any event) I put the claim in November 2010 then there was the JR so i contacted the FOS who say they can't do anything until Halifax give a final response. I,ve been told i'm in a queue and they will get to mine eventually. Meantime Black Horse paid out on 2 loans because of the same circumstances back in October, has anyone had any success with Halifax am i to understand it is part of lloyds/blackhorse??
BTW the cheeky mare also sold us buildings and contents insurance we had to have for mortgage deal which wasn't worth claiming on and was an astronomical price compared to others?? Are u feeling my frustration yet??
Hello there
So sorry to hear your issues here and hopefully you will get a result very soon.
They have been slow in dealing with complaints even though now the JR is all over.
I was told from Lloyds as mine have been with them for a few months now as well, that they were still awaiting guidelines from the regulators, and as soon as they do they will get moving on with the complaints. But they could not give me a timescale, only that they will be dealing with complaints in order as they came in, so the earlier cases first and so on.
But yes I do feel your frustration.
I understand they are all linked, you could email the CEO.

Letter on its way to them now, fully explaining the term of the ppi in comparison to the main loan, it was pre loaded, we did not need it and yes it was suggested that we used it as a savings account as long as w did not claim in the 5 years, as a matter of interest when it was paid off 3 years ago should they not have paid the half then.
Good for you, its a good case, I'm sure its a winner, fingers crossed.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
LOL, and from my neck of the woods too.:D:T:T, look forward to hearing the outcome. Fingers crossed.;)
LOL
Thanks again
Put six claims in about two weeks ago. three loans and three cards
had three letters back regarding cards, two wanting proof that i was paying ppi on them and one saying they are looking at my claim.
Had one letter back from loans saying they are looking in to my claim
Sent back this week card statements showing that i was paying ppi just waiting to hear from them now.
playing the waiting game now and hopefully i might hear some good news fingers crossed and all that.
Couldn't believe how quick i had a reply back from them.0 -
Hi hun
As far as I know once its confirmed by the FOS that they have received your complaint, I understand they let the bank know, so from there the bank will just deal with the FOS.
And yes no harm done in chasing up on the others, it will also be a help to others as well if they know what is happening, its possible they may get back and say they are waiting for guidelines from the regulators before they continue, but it will be good to know.
Good luck x

Did as you advised and rang banks:
M & S said dealing with my complaint and still investigating it - even though they put it on hold in early March?
Barclaycard said it is in the queue and they are dealing with them now. Said leave it for a month and ring back then if I had heard nothing further, but don't bother ringing before that.
Also rang the FOS to see what happens about complaints lodged with them that had not had a final decision. Said that the banks may still contact me directly and copy FOS in, or may deal with FOS who will send on communications. Lodged with FOS in March but still not yet been assigned to anyone to deal with it at FOS.0 -
Hi, can anyone advise me? I sent a letter to GE Money re PPI complaint on a secured loan (still a live account btw) last week, got acknowledgement letter a week later, then two days later (today) received another letter stating that: 'whilst GE Money provided the finance for PPI, GE Money didnt sell it to you' and basically states that as they were not present at the point of the sale & loans.co.uk sold us the PPI, they fell they cannot investigate the complaint fully or fairly!!! They have asked me to contact loans.co.uk direct (and provide the CHESTER address - which I point out as some people have been asking which is correct address for them) and submit my complaint to them. They included How to complain' leaflet & that I can ask Finance & leasing Association to look into it. They also state that this is their 'final response letter.
Any thoughts on this anyone? Do I need to reply to GE at all? Anyone know if loans.co.uk even still exist? I have put them into google but get The Lending Centre in assoc with moneyexpert come up??? Any help muchly appreciated!!!

Hello there
Its correct that whoever set up your account from the start is the ones responsible, despite having lenders paperwork/agreement etc.
I am not sure if they still exist but even if they're not there are ways around this now, so basically what I would do in your case, is during office hours next week, ring the FOS, they will know if the business loans.co.uk are still active and the best action to take from there.
Please let us know how you get on, cheers and good luck.

Hi Di,
Thanks for the exceptionally quick reply (and advice). Do you know if GE are absolved of all responsibility completely though? I ask as on another thread someone asked very similar re loans.co.uk selling PPI on behalf of Paragon (Ithink?) and they were told that as Paragon were taking the PPI money and adding the interest to balance which includes PPI that they were still liable to refund ?? Is that not the case then? Very confusetdotcom with differing opinions given on these things!!Keep Smiling- It makes people wonder what you're up to!!!

Hi hun, your welcome.
what I would do personally, is ask GE to send details of any documentation they hold on you in regards of loans.co.uk, they must still hold them to inform you that it was loans.co.uk that arranged your loan.
I understand someone was in a similar position the other day on here, and they requested the details from the lender of who set up the account, and they sent them in the post.
It does seem rather confusing. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
