Hi there,
I have reading the success storys for this PPI reclaim for some time now and have not seen any any success reclaim from BARCLAYS BANK .
Will Barclays Bank pay the PPI ??????
I took a loan from them couple of years ago for 5 years which i paid monthly with PPI but i can't remember the date i took the loan and can't find any paperwork .
Can someone advice me on where to start from and what to do to get my PPI back.
Thanks in advance.
Hi there
Yes there have been success, but a slow-down at the moment, now the Judicial review is over, its now a matter of time that the banks are to continue with the complaints, so if mis sold, give it a go.

As long as you have the account number and your reasons, you can make a start, and of course if you knew you were sold ppi.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
:D Please do not be too hard on these cmcs
They will have taken time on putting a claim in
It cannot be easy to fill a template letter in and go to the post office, then if the response is not favourable write a letter back and have to go to the post office again!! :eek:by this stage they must be pulling their hair out :rotfl::rotfl:it is very hard slog what they do and they only charge 25% plus vatso please dont be too harsh in future, and think of the hard work that goes into putting a claim in and then they have to bank the fee, so that is a trip to the bank to put the cheque in:D Shame on you :rotfl:
You are sooo right...I should be easier on them!!!....poor things...:o
For me it just demonstrates how the wonderful support given here on this website can be so very helpful..I actually trusted all the claims from these companies, and only the down to earth, practical guidance and encouragement offered here, showed any results.
Many of us are reluctant to take on the banks, and yet they have acted badly...we deserve fairness!
So thank you to all who helped, especially Di...I have a £2,500 success with RBS..and am sure I owe you a drink, Di!
Cheers....:)0 -

Wonder if any one can advise me - is the Lifestyle Protect Policy with MBNA which covers Disability, unemployment, carer cover, Hospitalisation and 'Lifestyle Events' (whatever they may be!) a type of PPI? Only I've been paying for this for years and claimed nothing back but don't ever remember asking for it???0

Hi there
It looks like the same as PPI, and you can make a reclaim if you think you were mis sold it.
Check the details on the checklist below, and if you believe any of them may apply to you, then give it a go on the reclaiming.
Its likely years back it was just automatically added anyway.
Step 3 takes you to a reclaim questionnaire, complete and send to the head office or complaints dept, keep copies and allow 8 weeks for a decision, good luck.

Hi there
That is so sad indeed.
I would write a personal letter to the bank, ask if an appointment could be made with the manager.
When my dad passed away 10 months ago, he had a separate account as well as other joint account with mum, and an appointment was made, they went through everything, think mum had to take a copy of the marriage certificate, also the death certificate, and the usual proof, utility bill, passport and/or driving licence for her own evidence, now weeks on they have sent mum a cheque.
So do write a letter, or give the bank a ring for an appointment and at the appointment I would go through everything, they will then possibly check the accounts.
Hope this is of some help, but otherwise maybe someone else will know the best action from here,
All the best to your friend.
Hiya
Thanks so much for the reply
We have done everything with the accounts he had running at the time he died, because correspondence was arriving for him after which is how we found out what and where they owed money, so it wasn't too much of a problem to sort that side of things, from all the debts there was just 2 cards with PPI that covers the death-but they are on hold until after the inquest when my friend will get a full death certificate (at the mo she only has an interim one).
I probably didn't make my query very clear, over the last 10 years they will have had lots of various personal loans and credit card loans (my friend was fully aware of the total they owed-there were no secrets-but she finds paperwork very very difficult) and her husband was paying one off with another to keep their heads above water.
I am sure they may have had PPI on lots of other borrowing over the last 6 years (or for years before). But with no records in the house, and because he has gone we have no way of finding out.
With an Experian report she may remember the name of the borrower and it's a start of finding out if he had protetion on anything else that may have been paid off pior to his death.
But would she be able to claim for someone who has passed away?
Can I just say my friend isn't coping emotionally, but financially she will be Ok because her husband worked for a really good employer.
Thank you to anyone anyone who can help?
