Hi
Looking for some help please...I called Egg a few weeks back and asked about my loan taken out in 2006 paid off in 2007 they told me they had no information on the loan so I sent a SAR request for my loan agreement details. I got a letter a few days ago that states:
'As the account you refer to isn ow closed I have to inform you that Egg are under no obligation to comply with a request for a copy of the executed agreement under the Consumer Credit Act as we no longer have a contractual relationship relating to this account, nor are we seeking to enforce any agreement on the account. The right to be provided with this information from Egg Banking plc ended with the closure of the account'.
I'm not sure where to go with this one now? I believe I had PPI on this account I was mis-sold however dont have any of the original paperwork
Can anyone tell me what step to take next?
Thanks0 -
Hello there, hpoing for some help.
I was co erced into purchasing Account Cover Plus which is basically PPI from my then Abound and Choice catalogues. Unfortunately I no longer have those catalogues, and I am sure these two companies are now Shop Direct? How do I go about reclaiming my PPI, my account numbers with Abound and Choice wont mean anything to Shop Direct will they? especially as I am no longer a customer, unfortunately I defaulted on both in 2005 when I had to claim JSA. Any advice would be much appreciated.0 -

Hi there
They should hold most details of your account going back the last 6 years at least.
I would contact the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), even if they no longer hold the agreement there should still be some details held.
The ICO should advise you here, ring them for the quickest way, but if you do still have details of the account number of that loan account, and reasons for being mis sold, you can still make a reclaim.

You can try tracking down your loan account number through your own bank where you were paying for the loan, or if you bank online, check statements, the account number of loan should be shown next to the monthly payments, and online should allow you to go back about 7 years or so, try it out, and good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Account numbers are a great start, try to call them and ask them to supply you with as much info as possible.
You give your name/address maybe date of birth, they can try tracking down your information.
Another way is to request a SAR, where they have 40 days to comply and send all they hold on you, going back at least the last 6 years, you enclose £10 cheque or postal order.
Template letter below if you want to do this and tweak to your requirements.

But basically, as long as you have account numbers and your reasons then go for it, good luck.

For many years I have had a business overdraft facility of £7000,
the facility was presented with the ppi as a requirement, I have not abused the overdraft and kept well within the limit. I was recently asked by the bank if I would like to discontinue the ppi payment - which i did but what about the many years it was paid ?0
