Can anyone advise please. I initiated a claim for PPI refund nearly a year ago, using Belmont Thornton. They have just sent it(my claim) to the FOS after all this time. Is it worth doing anything myself at this late stage , or am I best to just wait for the due processes to complete the cycle?
Belmont Thornton are NOT good to deal with-so anyone-DO NOT GO THERE!0 -
Well after only 3 working days we got our first standard letter from Nothern Rock stating they are investigating our case, this was is the 1st of 4 cases submitted, we have only used the templates so far but i must say i am impressed with the speed of their reply.0

hi all, really hope someone can help with this one. I'm just about to start a reclaim for ppi. i got on a personal loan in 2005 with ppi, later that year we were offered more on top and we foolishly accepted, also with ppi, then in 2006 we topped up again to pay costs of organising our wedding, again this new loan which cleared off the last and gave us a lump sum on top had ppi and the total repayment figure just over 14,000.
then in 2007 when we got married we topped up again this time being slightly older and wiser we refused ppi. however on the basis of recent developments regarding ppi, i decided to look at my accounts and have just realised that in the loan i am still paying off without ppi, im still paying for the ppi of the previous loans (and yes they rubbed their hands when they seen us coming).
the question i have is: when i reclaim, do i fill it out as one account reclaim or 4 seperate ppi reclaims , effectively 4 reclaims, which doesnt seem to make any sense.... and can i claim from my most recent loan as we refused ppi, but are still paying from previous loans?
im really confused by this and really hope someone understands what im trying to say....
thanks0 -
Well done to everyone.
I am amongst the many who have been successful in reclaiming.
I have a question for any of you moneysaving experts.
The PPI I have reclaimed was for a joint secured loan on the then marital home. I am now divorced and to get the ball rolling I had to ask my ex husband to sign the claim papers.
Does anyone know if he is legally entitled to half of the money reclaimed as he only paid a small portion of the loan off when we divorced and I paid a hefty amount to fnish the loan.
He is aware that a cheque will be arriving, I just wondered if anyone could help me with this one??

Hi there
I am really not sure where you stand from here to be honest, I take it you signed up from the start with the claims company?
Maybe you could contact the FOS who may be able to confirm.
Or meanwhile see what others have to say on these threads.
Wishing you luck on your reclaiming, hope it sorts out soon and thank you for the advice.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

That's good, well hope your not waiting too long for the decision, fingers crossed for a good outcome.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi there
When you first had the loan set up was it with the same lender, or did you use the broker.
If so for the very first one you pursue the broker and the lender on the remaining 3 as they were the ones who advanced your loan with ppi, but if you used the lender for the whole 4 of them, then yes you can make a reclaim on the whole 4 on the same questionnaire.
Unless of course you have different reasons for each one of them.;)

I know..it's really frustrating...I was initially too nervous to act for myself, and used a company...what a waste of time! They then ceased trading and I was so fed up I decided to act for myself...In following up my claims, I found a letter from one of the banks saying I had no case...the letter was seven months old!! The company acting for me had not even let me know..so now I am taking responsibility for my own claims...and last week got a result of £2,500 from RBS within eight weeks, goodness only knows what these companies do when they say they are "acting on our behalf":mad:0 -

As far as I know - if a joint loan, then your both entitled to a refund, but to make sure on this, I would post on a separate thread, I will post the link to a new thread within these reclaiming sections, so others may know the answer on this one, good luck.;)
