    Hello!

I am a bit confused now. After complaining to Barclays about my missold PPI I received a letter that my claim has been put on hold (I downloaded the form for this from your website). I am just wondering, am I waiting now until Barclays contacts me again after all the new developments, or do I still go on to complain to the Ombudsman and is it worth me getting in contact with Barclays to remind them that I still have a claim outstanding?

Any advice would be very much appreciated. :)
Hi there, just hang on for now, if you go the FOS you could be waiting up to a year, you will hear from Barclays.
You could ring Barclays and get an update it wouldnt hurt.

    Hi guys,

I got a loan out with Halifax around 4 years ago now and when I took it out I was pressured into getting it by them saying what if something happens to me and someone in my family is left to pay it? I didnt want the loan insurance but because they said that it made me think I best take it as I felt guilty in case something happened.

Do I have any grounds to reclaim the money back?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there

Yes you do, it should have been optional and you were obviously pressurised, follow the link posted by amersall, good luck.

Thanks, Di....Sound advice, but sadly I don't have any records going back that long either!

Still, this is really encouraging...I expected more of a fight, to be honest, just need to keep going on my other claims.

I also have a claim against Capital One...which I really was mis sold, ( led to believe it was compulsory..) and they have said no! So, this one is down to the ombudsman..am in a fighting mood now!

    Hi
I've literally just noticed PPI on my current Capital One card statement - I know when I activated this current card they tried to flog me card protection against ID theft which I declined as I always do and am pretty sure I would have declined PPI as well, but it's there and has also doubled in cost in the last 12 months. Would I have a case? I've requested a copy of my agreement/T&Cs in the meantime; I was sure I had them filed but can't find them and my e-statements only go back to June last year.

    Thanks

    Hi there

Do give it a go, with your reasons (I can't see why not).

To do this follow the link to the reclaim questionnaire below, step 3, complete and send to head office or complaints dept of whoever sold you the account, and allow 8 weeks, keep copies of everything as well, good luck.

Hi there, they say you should receive a confirmation letter by then, but sometimes it can take a little longer, also depending when it was posted, and when the Royal mail deliver, however despite that, the timescale to a decision is 8 weeks.
Chase them up if you've not received a confirmation letter by the end of the week, good luck.;)

I would agree with Di, have a go...Capital One certainly seem to have been one of the "keenest" to add PPI without necessarily making it clear to customers that it was optional, or for that matter what it would cost etc. I understand that they were fined for their mis selling of PPI, so I would think you would have a case...good luck!:)

I've already had a response from Capital One saying that I signed for it when I applied for the card. They're sending me a copy of the application. I've had this card since about 2003 now so really can't remember that far back but we'll see what this throws up. I'm happy to give it a go.

    Hi HH

Personally I would not use a claims company anyway, lots on here have had hassle, when its pretty straight forward to have a go yourself, and I believe there is more paperwork involved if you go with a claims company, where all you really do need is your account number, and if you know you were sold and mis sold ppi you can continue to make a reclaim.

Follow the link below - step 3 reclaim questionnaire, send to the ones who sold you the account/head office, and keep copies, allow 8 weeks for a decision.
This way if successful you get to keep all your money.
Hope this helps and good luck.
