Re my earlier question I read the link I was advised to.
My question is if I have paid sick leave does this apply to me - I copied and pasted and made it Bold. -
If you were already covered. For example, if you had a separate income protection policy or your employer provided an illness and redundancy package, and you informed the salesperson you had this cover but they insisted you also had to take their insurance, or you weren't asked if you had any alternative cover,sam_martin82 wrote: »Hi all
I'm new to this forum so if I'm posting in the wrong section please excuse me and reply kindly?
Over the last 6 and more years I have had several finance arrangement with Black Horse, HFC, Lloyds etc etc for a sofa suite, computers and cars I have bought.
On all of these I took out the extra Insurance to cover sickness and redundancy. I knew it was not mandatory but it was always highly recommeded in case I was ill, unable to work or out of a job.
I work for Metropolitan Police and as such get paid sick leave. I am also quite unlikely to be made redundant (although never say never).
Do I have a claim to reclaim the Insurance I paid on any of these arrangements but didn't actually need, so to speak?
All sensible helpful answers are very welcome.
Many thanks

Hello there
Even though there was a good outcome last week, its highly possibly the judgement will be appealed upon, but basically due to the judgement result, they should be looking into past sales and possibly re-opening cases anyway.
What I would do in your case is contact the Financial ombudsman service in office hours next week, explain the situation of your cases being timed out, they may suggest that you write to RBS again due to the outcome of the judgement, you can then confirm this to RBS on complaining.
The BBA have until the 10 May 2011 to decide to make an appeal, and due to this complaints have still been held up in the banks, but do give the FOS a ring direct who will give the best options on this since the judgement, good luck and please keep us posted.0 -

Hi can someone give me some advice pls.
I had a secured loan from GE money £48250.00 in April2006,I paid it off in Feb 2007 through a remortgage £49944.62 I had paid 10 months at £465.01.I also paid £39572.62 to my outstanding mortgage to GMAC my outstanding balnce was £39863.49 on 30/03/2006.The GMAc motgage was cleared on Feb2007 also
Can I claim any of the interest and fees back from either of these companies?i have been looking at some of the interest thatI have paid off and the fees seem extotionate. At the time I was pretty desperate to clear my outstanding debts of and the broker who arranged it for me at the time just said thats the fee that they are charging and the interest is correct.
Any help would be good sorry if I am in the wrong post.

Hi there
If you were already covered for sick leave and a redundancy package with your company, in my opinion there is no point in having another with the bank, please feel free to also post on a separate thread below as well for more opinions, good luck.

Hiya
I did read somewhere yesterday, that even old rejected cases may be re-opened, I will try to find this and some further details, but otherwise send in another complaint to the bank.
All the best, please let us know how you get on, cheers. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
