    Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help - I was missold PPI for a loan I took out with HSBC the person I dealt with made it clear I had to take out their insurance to secure the loan. I've contacted HSBC last year and then took it to the Ombudsman. Both found against me. Can I reopen the case on the back of this last ruling?

    Many thanks,

    P

    Hi there

I would contact the FOS and make sure on this.

Even though it may be a case of the bank relooking into it anyway, but do check, wishing you luck this time round.;)

hi guys great result today hope it doesn't take long before they start to pay out i've got ten complaints with various companys and most are on hold.
the fos upheld my complaint against hfc but found out today they are not accepting the adjudicator so will move to ombudsman now i know i have read that the ombudsman usually gives same outcome as adjudicator can anyone advise me if this is the case or has someone lost at this final stage thanks guys for any response.

    Hello,

I had PPI on my M&S Credit Card which I closed at the end of last year. I rang them today for details and they said it had been part of my account from 15 October 2003 until I closed it on 29 September 2010. I asked them to send me a copy of my agreement and they said they would. If I could demonstrate that I was mis-sold would I be able to claim for all 7 years? I noticed on their website they state "We no longer offer Personal Protection Insurance on our Cards or Loans. If you do have an existing policy that you'd like to discuss, please call us on 0845 900 0900.", so perhaps there has been evidence of mis-sold M&S policies already?

    Regards

Hello there, yes you can, hopefully they will go back all the way with this.

Step 3 on above link is a reclaim questionnaire, complete and send to their head office or complaints dept, keep copies in case you need to refer back to this, and they normally have 8 weeks to make a decision.

    Good luck.

    Hiya
The ombudsman is highly likely to agree with the adjudicators decision, and they should also award you further redress for distress and inconvenience as well.
I'm sure will all be okay.;)

  • Hi, im new to this site so do apologise if this is in the wrong place, i have just heard about the results today for PPI reclaiming - brill news. I wonder if anyone can help, my husband has a Egg cc which he took out in 2008 on line, as he is self employed we never took out PPI, but on his statement he is paying for card repayment protection! is this the same as PPI?
We also had a Barclays mortgage back in 1993/1994, we think we took out PPI on that as it was our first mortgage and seemed to have every insurance going (young and basically hadnt a clue what we did and didnt need) as they have now changed to Woolwich and we dont know where the original documents are how do we go about seeing if we have a claim for that. Id really appreciate any help anyone can give.

    Thanks
    c

    Hi and welcome

In regards of your mortgage PPI, I would do a separate thread, stay within the reclaiming threads, and subject is "Mortgage ppi help", I am sure dunstonh will be able to help with this one for you.;)

In regards of reclaiming for the Credit Card PPI, Card protection I would call them and ask them what this protection is in aid of.
Or email them to make sure,
    http://new.egg.com/visitor/0,,3_82205--View_1931,00.html

I would definately check, if they added this without this being signed for they should not have done this.

For more on reclaiming, complete the reclaim questionnaire as on step 3 below.
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-credit-card-insurance

Complete and send to whoever set up your account, head office or complaints dept (address details I assume would be on the EGG link posted above).
Remember to keep copies of everything, and allow 8 weeks for a decision, good luck.
