andytomo1960 wrote: »hi all, I have been an avid fan of this site for several years and thx to Martin have reclaimed quite a bit of money - unfrtunately not enough to stop me going bankrupt in Jan 2009, discharged 6 months later in July 2009.
My question is - I have recently been informed that I was mis-sold PPI on a loan from Welcome Finance included in the bankruptcy, and have compensation of £2900, but the letter says that this money will be taken off what I owed on the loan included in the bankruptcy. Is this correct?
Hiya
I would post this in a separate thread below, so someone will know the correct answer to this, but to what I am aware of, if successful on a reclaim, any refund is awarded towards the debt/arrears, anything remaining plus interest is normally awarded directly to you by cheque payment, unless it differs in regards of bankruptcy, but someone will know the answer to this one.

Hello all,
I have been thinking of going for claiming my ppi back on my 2 previous loans with Barclays for some time and i feel now is the time. Basically i had the first one and was advised to get the ppi and it would help the process and then the second was a continuation of the first so thought nothing of the ppi.
Basically i have done the forms for the 2 loans and have copies of the ppi certificates but not sure how to approach a covering letter so as not to see to aggressive and not a push over either.
Does anyone have a basic template for a good letter or am i too silly to find it on this site.:o:o Apologies for this if so, at a bit of a racing start for this now, want my money!!!:):):)

Hello
first off i appoligise now if im posting this in wrong place
have a cc with tesco and have had so for many years its a joint c.c
husband is main card holder and i'm secondary card holder
in the past we have asked to cancel this insurance to be told that we couldnt because thats the terms of the cc u have to have insurance incase of defalt payments
well this morning i rang them again and im guessing theve been inundated with calls like mine cos i was told, i could cancel the insurance there and then and i think they was hoping id say yes ok cancel it and i;ll go away
BUT also whist on the phone i discovered the insurance is for my husband alone even tho im secondary card holder ??
now my questions are is A) should i cancel right now andwould this affect any action i would like to take to get back the years of paying insurance
also tesco bank is po box number and when i asked for an address to send any correspondence too the lady on phone her attitude changed and said she couldnt give any addresses to non primary card holders ?
so does anyone have an address rather then a po box number
any advice would be greatfully recieved please
thanks
Jen.
Hi Jen
By cancelling, it should not affect the way of any action you may take in regards of reclaiming etc.
You can cancel at any time.
Details here of Tesco finance, hope it helps.

I haven't heard if anybody has claimed back their PPI from the Co-op Bank. if anybody has can you give me some advice please.
Many Thanks.
Gareth
Hi Gareth
I am sure there have been a few I have came across, but you don't see many complaints against this bank for ppi like the main of them, but still if you have your reasons, give it a go, good luck.

Hi All,
Hoping someone can give me some help. 30 days ago i sent back the acceptance form to the Halifax for the refund of my missold ppi. now unusually on the back of the accompanying letter were the calculations of what I was to receive back with a grand total. I am still waiting for my refund and rang them this morning to find out where it is. Girl who answered told me that they have to calculate it first to which i replied 'but it has already been calculated' so what is the hold up. she was shocked that we had a calculation on the back of our letter so could not answer the query as to 'where is the cheque'!! she has gone away to find this out. my question is has anybody had a similar problem and what should i do now??? is this delaying tactics? its also with the fso. Thanks
Hiya
I think now since the JR issues are finally over, they will get on with this and pay out anytime now. Maybe due to the JR have held them up even if your case was not involved with this matter, keep at them, hope you receive your money soon.
Well done by the way!:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi and welcome and no worries.:D
The template letter have been replaced by a reclaim questionnaire, the main of the banks use these now too.
You will find it here.

Hi and welcome
There is no harm in trying with your reasons, if you don't try you will never know.
Its a matter of just completing the reclaim questionnaire here.

Send to EGG's head office or complaints dept, keep copies of everything in case you need to refer back to it again, and allow 8 weeks for a decision.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hello,
I wonder if anyone can help - I was missold PPI for a loan I took out with HSBC the person I dealt with made it clear I had to take out their insurance to secure the loan. I've contacted HSBC last year and then took it to the Ombudsman. Both found against me. Can I reopen the case on the back of this last ruling?
Many thanks,

Hello,
I had PPI on my M&S Credit Card which I closed at the end of last year. I rang them today for details and they said it had been part of my account from 15 October 2003 until I closed it on 29 September 2010. I asked them to send me a copy of my agreement and they said they would. If I could demonstrate that I was mis-sold would I be able to claim for all 7 years? I noticed on their website they state "We no longer offer Personal Protection Insurance on our Cards or Loans. If you do have an existing policy that you'd like to discuss, please call us on 0845 900 0900.", so perhaps there has been evidence of mis-sold M&S policies already?
