Hi there
I have not been on the forum for some time and I apologise if I am aksing a question that has been asked many times but I need some advice on the PPI charges. Over the many years I have had many loans etc but have forgot some of the companys they were with. Heard this morning that banks have to refund if mis sold. Please advise on the following;
How far can you claim back
How can you find out the account numbers / details of old loans / if they had PPI
Is there a letter template to claim
Whats the average waiting time
Many thanks

PS; The last PPI I claimed was from Picture. Gota refund approx 2 years ago. Is there anything else going on with picture that I need to know about, not been on forum for a couple of years.0 -
hi all, I have been an avid fan of this site for several years and thx to Martin have reclaimed quite a bit of money - unfrtunately not enough to stop me going bankrupt in Jan 2009, discharged 6 months later in July 2009.
My question is - I have recently been informed that I was mis-sold PPI on a loan from Welcome Finance included in the bankruptcy, and have compensation of £2900, but the letter says that this money will be taken off what I owed on the loan included in the bankruptcy. Is this correct?0 -
Hello
first off i appoligise now if im posting this in wrong place
have a cc with tesco and have had so for many years its a joint c.c
husband is main card holder and i'm secondary card holder
in the past we have asked to cancel this insurance to be told that we couldnt because thats the terms of the cc u have to have insurance incase of defalt payments
well this morning i rang them again and im guessing theve been inundated with calls like mine cos i was told, i could cancel the insurance there and then and i think they was hoping id say yes ok cancel it and i;ll go away
BUT also whist on the phone i discovered the insurance is for my husband alone even tho im secondary card holder ??
now my questions are is A) should i cancel right now andwould this affect any action i would like to take to get back the years of paying insurance
also tesco bank is po box number and when i asked for an address to send any correspondence too the lady on phone her attitude changed and said she couldnt give any addresses to non primary card holders ?
so does anyone have an address rather then a po box number
any advice would be greatfully recieved please
thanks

Hi All,
Hoping someone can give me some help. 30 days ago i sent back the acceptance form to the Halifax for the refund of my missold ppi. now unusually on the back of the accompanying letter were the calculations of what I was to receive back with a grand total. I am still waiting for my refund and rang them this morning to find out where it is. Girl who answered told me that they have to calculate it first to which i replied 'but it has already been calculated' so what is the hold up. she was shocked that we had a calculation on the back of our letter so could not answer the query as to 'where is the cheque'!! she has gone away to find this out. my question is has anybody had a similar problem and what should i do now??? is this delaying tactics? its also with the fso. Thanks0 -

Hello There,
I think, others maybe able to help you more. You can make a claim 6 years back from when you became aware of being mis-sold ppi, which for me has been just the last few weeks as its been in the news etc.
As for getting the info, if you can remember who you had the loans with, give them a call they will have all your details. In my case Egg were brilliant but Lloyds rubbish but called into my branch and leaning on them I got the info i needed. Also as advised by others on here one bieng the very helpful Di there is a form that you can send off (think its called SAR) im sure others will be clearer on this.
There isnt a template letter (what im aware of). but a questionnaire that can be downloaded and completed. Its on this site under claiming mis-sold ppi. Download it, have a read and see what info you need from your lenders to complete it.
I believe the time to hear a reply is 8 weeks again im not 100%
Go for it, it costs a stamp and a call or too!:D:D:p Perfer et obdurai dolor hic tibi proderit olim

will the banks automatically contact the customers now then sure i had some ppi on an old nationwide loan but got no information on the account anymore .
Im very sure the banks will not go out of there way to find you!
give nationwide a call, they will have the information you need, over the phone most have records going back to 2000. If you arranged the loan before 2000 in branch they will have records in branch only.
hope this helps:D:D:p Perfer et obdurai dolor hic tibi proderit olim

BBC Breakfast stated this morning that the BBA will not be pursuing an appeal. Good news for all!!!
Yes its fab news!:T:T
So for anyone who believe they have been mis sold, I would even give them a try on older loan ppi, go for it. Even though they are meant to contact you in due course, it may take some time, so start the ball rolling yourself.;)
The ones currently ongoing with the bank, you should not have to do anything.
Ones who have gone to the FOS, they will continue in the normal manner.
Good luck all.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hiya
Yes they should do in due course, but it may take some time, contact Nationwide and ask them if they hold any details of your account. You can then make a start yourself then if you know.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hiya
I would not worry about how long ago, many have been successful from reclaims 90's and so. If you have only been made aware of the mis selling as well or due to this JR news, then you confirm that you have a right to make a reclaim. (even though they are supposed to open the doors and redress on old reclaims now anyway).
If you were paying for the loan over the last 6 years, check the statements where the payments came out of, such as your bank account, the account number of that loan is normally shown next to the monthly repayments), otherwise give them a call, give them as many details as possible, they will check the systems.
The reclaim questionnaire on step 3 below replaced the template letter on this site and mainly used by banks now as well to make a reclaim, you allow 8 weeks for a decision. They will otherwise write and ask for more time, good luck.

Send reclaim questionnaire to head office or their complaints dept, and keep copies of everything for your records. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
