You are not thick, i am not 100% sure what will happen if they appeal and win.
It may not help many in the end if the banks appeal and win, if they appeal and lose, then your claim will be processed as usual.
You are as wise as me at this moment in time, someone may post who knows more about this.
    thank you amersall

Yes, hopefully it will stay that way, the BBA will possibly go for an appeal, keep a check on this.;)

  • Having attempted to reclaim PPI , i have been told that , even if a claim was successful , firstly all reclaimed money goes back to a debtor ie bank you owe money , and secondly , you are then liable to pay the company fees for concluding your claim.
Could anyone please advise as to what actually happens , if in fact you do Win a claim ?

Hi there, did you claim yourself or use a company to do this for you?.
Some banks have been known to take a "win" off a loan or cc that is in arrears or a dmp.If you are not in arrears or the loan is paid off then you should get the money to you.

Tried searching but wondered if anyone had an email address for Citibank.
Did send a recorded delivery letter some time ago (January) but they never signed for it and passed my query to Opus who have taken over their cards who told me my case was on hold pending JR. I closed my Citi Card in August 2010 and Opus didn't take them over until November 2010.
Sent it to the FOS in early March but today received a letter from FOS saying receiving more than 2500 PPI cases each week, so may take well over a year.
In view of the BBA loss of JR today thought I might start sending emails etc to CitiBank.

    Hiya

Lets hope the banks just decide to get on with the complaints to being down the workload, they're making a rod for their own backs in my opinion.

I did come across some details below, however it states you can email if you have an account/pin number etc, check it out here, good luck.

Hi Just recieved this from Simms& Carmichael about my claim

As promised, I can confirm at the courts the British Banking Associations review has been rejected and guidelines have been drawn up for each lender to review each customers payment protection insurance policy. There will no longer be any claims ‘on hold’.
Hopefully my claim which is with Householdbank/HSBC should get sorted.
    Fingers crosssed
I have 4 other claims which I have not done anything with because of the time scale on this one.

I think I might send the paperwork of now.

    Was this by email?
Did they not mention anything about a possible appeal?

I had nothing in the e-mail about an appeal:j
From what I have heard the banks face huge penalties if they put any customers ppi claims on hold after this ruling, so hope this is true
