    Hi,

Appologies if this is the wrong forum to use..

However I took out a personal loan with LLoydsTSB back in 2008 and with it I was sold LPI (Loan protection Insurance?)..

Is LPI the same as PPI? Thus can be claimed back if I feel it was mis-sold to me (as I do)?

    Manythanks in advance..

Hi there and welcome to the PPI forums, and yes your in the correct place.

Yes that is the same as ppi, just known as loan protection insurance, but the same thing.

If you have been mis sold then all you do is complete the FOS reclaiming questionnaire, this replaced the first template letter on this site, but you can optionally write a letter in your own words if you want to, keep copies of all you send and receive in case you need to refer to this again at some point.
They normally have 8 weeks, but may write to ask for more time, but should keep you updated of the progress of your complain in writing.

The questionnaire you will find on link below as stage one of reclaiming, good luck.

I had a loan with Capital Bank which I think was part of the Bank of Scotland group. There was PPI added to the loan which I was not aware of.

Does anyone have an up to date address for Capital Bank or any suggestions how to deal with this?

    Cheers.

    Hiya.

So Capital Bank were the ones who sold you the ppi then?
In this case your correct in pursuing this company.

Use the reclaiming questionnaire on the link below the address, this replaced the template letter on this site, but you can write a letter of reclaim in your own words if you want to.
Remember to keep copies of everything as well, in case you need to refer to this again at some point, and as usual they have 8 weeks, but may ask for more time.

Found the address below, maybe someone will be along to clarify on this, or contact the FOS who will have the address details to be sure, good luck.

    Capital Bank Public Limited Company,
    Capital House,
    Queens Park Road
    Handbridge
    Chester, Chesire,
    CH88 3AN.

Does anyone know if the address for claiming mis-sold PPI on a Natwest credit card is the same one as for loans. Thanks.

Just doing the final few questionnaires.
So far cheque from Capital One, cheque from Santander for Debenhams Card, offer accepted from HFC for Beneficial Bank Card.
Argos store card, barclaycard cc, M & S loan all on hold awaiting JR.
No response from Natwest re loan PPI.
Barclays loan asked for new FOS questionnaires as ?mislaid them.
Citicard (sent on by them to Opus) not being investigated until after JR so sent to FOS yesterday.

  • This is some great news for anyone who has taken out a Loan with Welcome Finance on or after the 14th of January 2005.

The FSCS have taken over all claims for mis sold PPI.
I was in the process of writting them a letter, went on to the website to obtain an address when I saw this -

    "
    02 March 2011
The FSCS has declared WFSL in default. This is because the firm is unable, or likely to be unable, to pay claims against it in relation to PPI. WFSL sold a substantial number of PPI policies to its customers, and a declaration of default opens the way for those customers, and any others who might have valid claims against the firm that are protected by the FSCS, to make a claim.
The FSCS will now be responsible for PPI claims against WFSL. To assist in its handling of claims, the FSCS has arranged to use WFSL’s claims handling resources. However, the FSCS will remain responsible for all decisions on claims, which will be made in accordance with FSCS rules, and will closely oversee and monitor all steps in the handling of claims. This arrangement will enable claims to be processed more quickly and efficiently.
For the full press release, please visit - not allowed to show link as a new user, but go onto welcome finance home page!!!

Looks like great news for everyone who has taken out a load with them in the past. The FSCS will be in contact with all the customers of welcome finance sending them an application form. No need to send in a letter.
If you don't want to wait for them to contact you, you can contact them. The number for Welcome is : 08453730386 I have just got off the phone with them, it will take aprox 2 weeks to get the appliaction forms as they haven't recieved them yet.

Thought I would share this on here!!

Best of luck and I'll keep you up to date - Ben
