Just had a looksie through the thread and see the same names are still champions of the thread. Well done. I trust all are well and know that I will be in safe hands
Having successfully won my PPI case, I have embarked on helping a friend reclaim theirs.
Their loan was with First Plus back in 2007, we have written to First Plus for info on PPI but shock horror no response, so will be firing off a gentle response. Now I seem to recall First Plus went belly up? So please correct me if Im wrong, so does this does this mean a FSCS route.
As ever, answers on a postcard please.
thanks. If you see a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck !!!!!!0 -

Hiya
Hope your well, long time no speak.:D
And good on you for doing what your doing for a friend and wishing you luck too.
Yes I would try the FSCS if the company are no longer active and its possibly they may be listed with them, you could give them a call first to save writing to the company themselves to rule this out first.
Good luck and please let us know how you get on. Cheers. x;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

FP are still in business (mores the pity), make sure it was FP who set up the loan and not a broker, if it was a broker you will get no joy from FP. If it was FP get a claim in now, as they are holding out until the end of the judicial review.0 -
Yoohoo

3 reasons to be going on with for mis sell of FP loan ppi.
You were not made aware that the ppi was added onto the loan and you would pay this back over the term of the loan with interest, but the ppi would only cover you for 5 years.
You were told after the 5 years you would get the cashback of the ppi. And again, were not told that the ppi amount would still be on the loan to term end with interest.
You do not believe that you were given enough information regarding the ppi to make a informed decision, as had you been told the actual cost of this ppi, you would have declined it.0 -
I received a letter from Opus this morning saying they will not respond until the outcome of the Judicial Review is decided. Also 2 letters from Barclaycard asking me to complete and return a FOS questionnaire. As the only way they could have got my details to write to me was from the one I sent them seemed a bit strange. Rang them but the department said they obviously hadn't been sent on to them when they logged my complaint. Seems like I have got to do it all again.0

Put the opus one into the fos. With barclays i am afraid that you will have to fill this in, are you sure it is the fos questionnaire? as barclays send one of there own forms to fill in when you send in a complaint. They have logged your complaint, so i think this will be barclays own form.0

Hi,
Appologies if this is the wrong forum to use..
However I took out a personal loan with LLoydsTSB back in 2008 and with it I was sold LPI (Loan protection Insurance?)..
Is LPI the same as PPI? Thus can be claimed back if I feel it was mis-sold to me (as I do)?
Manythanks in advance..0 -

The forms they have sent are definitely the FOS ones; they are word for word what I downloaded from this website.
I realized that I had been sent another reference originally so called that number and have ascertained that the FOS questionnaire relating to my Barclaycard has been received and my complaint logged and that the two new references and questionnaires relate to loans, one completed and one on-going. I have printed out my original ones and am about to go and send again.
The gentleman at Barclaycard said that the PPI investigations are on hold until the results of the Judicial Review.
I will send the Opus one to FOS. Thanks for the advice.0
