Hi y'all, Can anyone help with this one please.

I have writtent to LLOYDS trying to claim for my PPI, I took the loan out in dec 2007 personal loan 7,688 and 2,828.15 fokr PPI, i had gone in debt recovery about a year into that, i have since been making a reduced monthly repayment.

I got a letter saying that if i accept, Lloyds will use the payout to pay for the arrears amount and any remaining will be paid in to my bank account which pays for my loan, and the 8% simple interest offered will be paid into my account.

This is their first and final offer they have said in their letter.

I dont know what to do.

    tah

    Vee:(

    Hi there Vee

This is normally procedure, so anything owing on that actual account due to arrears they will generally use to to help towards any arrears owing.
But as you are aware anything remaining plus interest will be yours and paid into your bank account.

Well done to you, how long did this reclaim take to do from start to finish?

  • It took me well over a year of phone calls, ignored letters, and the break came when i posted my complaint by mistake to the Ombudsman office, they got in touch with Lloyds for me and then sent back my complaint so that i could complain to LLOYDS, i thought my eyes were deceving me when i saw their reply, not less then a week after i posted my complaint.

    tah for the help!

    Hi Vee your very welcome.;)

You could argue that if you other debt, maybe mortgage or rent arrears you would prefer to pay towards that because its more priority debt, same as council tax etc, I read someone had posted something similar last week, and the fos agreed with the complainant - to have all the refund directly paid to her or him so they can sort out these other debts instead.
But its up to you of course.

You got there finally with success, so again well done!;) XX

  • HI to all at M.S.E

I wrote on here some months back regarding our claim against Loyyds tsb and how we felt we were missold our policy etc. after nearly 6 months we have recieved a letter in our favour from the adjudicator at the F.O.S giving his opinion and its looking really good. lloyds tsb are doing a great job by not replying to the ombudsman and the final decision will now be made by the ombudsman himself. so touch wood the adjudicator is recommending that they do indeed pay us back with interest and £200 compensation. My question is this and hope you can help, on this letter it says had we have completed the full term with the insurance, we would have paid £22000 !!!! we had no idea, now, seeing as weve paid it for 6 years and 1 month can you tell me am i right in dividing the £22,000 by the ten year term then multiplying by the 6 years ive paid to give me a round about sum of what they actually owe me and my wife ?? the reason ime asking is just incase we do get an offer and dont want to be blinded by any tempting figures other than what is rightfully ours. any help appreciated please guys and thanks to everyone on here in advance for all your help with our claim.

    Regards

    Tony

Hi Tony and well done, I imagine the ombudman will also agree to the adjudicators decision, they mostly do.
Lloyds are known to ignore the adjudicators decision, so no worries.

I will post the link on how the FOS calculates ppi refunds which may be of some help, but meanwhile hopefully someone will be along to explain how the calculations work and work out yours for you, good luck.;)

  • Hi there,
    Just a short one.
My complaint with the fos is being reviewed later this week and I will let you know the outcome.
Egg have committed FRAUD in a BIG way. I got a PPI refund in October 2009 and was reduced in my IVA but it WASN't the FULL amount of PPI.
    I was paid £ 1516.00 PPI & £ 504.01 Interest INSTEAD of £ 3797.97 PPI & £ 551.30 Interest.
Also, this £ 2020.01 PPI refund was NOT taken off my loan when they said they would do. Later, they ADDED £ 384.72 accrued interest to my loan prior to being sold for collection.
BUT the £ 2020.01 DOES NOT BELONG TO EGG, IT BELONGS TO ME AND MY INSOLVENT PRACTITIONER, GRANT THORNTON.
Therefore, FRAUD have been committed, the selling of my loan balance for collection and the ADDITION of the Accrued Interest is ILLEGAL.
They had broken my IVA arrangement and I think I am entitled to the rest of my loan balance totalling £ 10,620.03.
The money which I have ALREADY PAID INTO MY IVA would COVER ALL MY OTHER CREDITOR'S DEBTS IN FULL INCLUDING THE SUPERVISOR'S FEE AND CLOSE THE IVA.
So this money would be mine, would it ?
do people think I have a case here ?
Am I entitled to this money which is left in my loan balance with Egg ?
Let me know as soon as possible.
    Thanks
