    Hi there

    And well done!.

Did they actually confirm if they upheld in your favour or if they gave an offer?

If they uphold they should therefore refund all you have paid in PPI plus interest etc.
You could ask them for a breakdown as well, maybe this will show what you paid in to the account of PPI.
With an offer it could be anything they think is reasonable.

Sometimes they give an opportunity for them to reconsider, if they did not confirm it was the final decision.
In the final decision they enclose or they should enclose details of the Financial Ombudsman service (FOS).
You can see if anyone else posts up with suggestions first if you want to, the best of luck.

Their letter said that it was a "goodwill" payment and that "a business decision had been made to refund all PPI premiums levied during the past 6 years". It is offered on the basis that no further claims or legal action is taken over this matter.

Should I request that they reconsider, or just accept their offer?

Thanks for all the advice - this is a brilliant forum!

    Hiya

    And your welcome.

So it was a goodwill offer and they confimed that they would refund ALL ppi premiums paid then?
Sounds like then it maybe what you did pay in to the ppi but no interest offered.

Its up to you if you want to ask them to reconsider, but I am not sure if this will jeapardise anything, maybe if they don't you could always make the complaint to the FOS, ask if they could consider by the next 14 days of your letter, and if you hear nothing by then you will consider the FOS.

Or wait for other opinions first.;)

    Hi Faith and welcome.

I am not too sure on the overdraft protection either, but you could post this on a separate thread below, maybe dunstonh will know more on this one, obviously stay within the reclaiming threads but a new thread of your own and you can always subject is as "Overdraft protection help please".

However, in my personal opinion it may still be reclaimable just like loan/credit card ppi and so on, depending on your reasons on why you want to make a reclaim.
Did they just add this to your account?
Or is there another reason you may have?

    Cheers.

I would still start a new thread though to make sure you get the right advice on this one, good luck.;)

Hi we 2 have received a similar goodwill gesture from Blackhorse phone and enquired how much this gesture would be and they were unable to say until signed letter received. Original loan was for approx 13k, with approx 4k added as PPI giving approx total of 17k. loan settled after 12monthly payments final payment approx 15k how much ppi refund should we be expecting? your help would greatly be appreciated mx

The offer was PPI plus interest for the past 6 years, but the account was opened in 1989 and was used very much more prior to the last 6 years when mostly cleared.

I wondered what the position was as HFC have obviously taken over this account from Beneficial Bank, the original card provider. Do they then take on the responsibility for PPI for the whole term the card was running or am I lucky to be offered the past 6 years PPI plus interest?
  • URGENT HELP NEEDED!! I copied the letters from this website to ask for information of the terms and conditions and any insurance added to my post office credit card account. I worded the letter exactley as stated in the letter template on this website as I simply copied and pasted it and filled in the blanks into a word document.

I recieved a massive pile of statements in return of my request rather than the terms and conditions. I have just now recieved this months credit card statement and they have charged me £275 for the copy statements!!!! Can they do this?!?!?! I expected the possibility of being charge around £10 for the information, infact in the advise on this website it said they may charge £1 but not this!!! No warning that they may charge this amount. They didn't even write to me to state what the charge would be. I am extremely distressed and upset!!

Oh my god!!! this is terrible. They have obviously not given you what you asked for, i would write them a letter (or telephone them)saying that you requested the agreement and not the statements and you will be contacting fos as they did not deal with your request and you will not be paying for something you did not ask for. This may or may not work but it is worth a try. Someone may come on here and post with further advice on this.
