  • Evening all,

Still waiting to hear back from FOS ajudicator who has told RBS that she upholds my complaint.... Has anyone in the past rang the bank while waiting to see if they can push them along for a decision. Just wondering if this may help.

    Hiya

Normally after you sign the acception received from the FOS, you then sent back to the FOS, they send a copy to the bank and the FOS should then let you know when they have done this in a letter, then they normally confirm you should hear something by 8 weeks, and if you haven't then contact the FOS/Adjudicator who was dealing with your complaint.;)

I have not recieved anything from FOS yet. I've been informed in an e-mail that she upholds decision and has contacted bank. She says she will let me know if they accept this or contest it.

    Hiya

Right so the adjudicator is yet to contact the bank then?
The timescale depending on when the adjudicator made contact with the bank - they give them I believe about a fortnight to get back to either agree or disagree.
I would maybe contact the adjudicator for an update if its been q while since you were informed of the decision of having your complaint withheld.;)

Hopefully they will agree, but if they don't as you may be aware, your complaint will then be moved on to the ombudsman where in most cases go along with the adjudicators decision.

Thanks for that. She e-mailed two weeks ago to inform me she had contacted the bank, and so am just sitting and waiting....Just wondered how I could speed things up.

Give them the adjudicator a call or email at the end of the week, just ask tell them you were just anxious to know if Lloyds have been back with a decision on your case yet, that should be fine to do, good luck.

Hi there. After 14 days if the business don't respond to an adjudication then the case gets passed to an ombudsman. However the adjudicator will usually chase a response and its not common for the bank to just not reply. Ur adjudicator shud give u an honest assessment of what's happening just call them. Cheers
  • Hi All,

    It's my first post here.

I've made a claim for refund of mis-sold personal loan protection by HSBC.

I posted the letter to them on the 9th December 2010. I received a reply dated the 17th December 2010 saying they were looking at my case but I have heard nothing else since.

Does the obligation to respond within eight weeks extend from my original letter or from the date of their reply?

    Thanks

    Hi and welcome

Chase them up with another letter, tell them you've not heard a word from them, or give them a ring and ask if they're currently dealing with your complaint.

Some go 8 weeks by the date of the letter and others from when it was received.
Did you post it by signed for recorded delivery?

Hi there, the insurance that pays out even if you claim elsewhere (sickness etc) was mortgage cover, do you know what insurance you have with these? as no other insurance on pinnacle site says that you can claim this as well as other?.
